Fenster Café is genius. Fenster Café is life. If you decide to become their customer and buy their signature product, the Ripoffccino…sorry…I meant Fensterccino of course, a strong emotional response will likely be your reward. Isn`t that exactly what we all live for?
Be it a climax of anticipation, thinking of the excited admiration of easily impressed TikTok minions, or vexed incredulity that you have just spent a ludicrous amount on a social media fad. In any case, it will be life-changing, as depending on your circles, you will take with you a story that has potential to either impress your peers with your amazingly awesome experience, entertain them with your pathetic folly, or abandon you quietly out of embarrassment of knowing you. Fenster Café touches everything and everyone!
From an entrepreneurial perspective, Fenster Café has my full admiration. Not only have they found a way to successfully sell an admittedly good coffee with an outrageously high mark-up by pouring it into a cheap chocolate-glazed ice-cream cone. They have done so by openly announcing that they are selling the most expensive coffee in the city. Only accepting card payments, they not very gently nudge their mostly tourist crowd customer base into leaving a tip via their payment interface, while tipping for take-out coffee is definitely NOT a thing in Vienna. MBA students, you better take note of this real life case study of sales strategy excellence!
The staff truly is friendly and accommodating. They charge the idi0t-tax with a genuine smile, and who can blame them in this day and age, where selling excrements in a cone would probably work just as well as long as people are allowed to film while it`s being served. Ka-Ching! $$$
If it hasn`t become clear yet, in equal parts I find myself in awe and despair about what I have experienced at Fenster Café. I feel so alive, animated, and creatively inspired that I must thank Fenster Café for it publicly. In light of this, 11€ is a bargain. I...
Read moreThis is a nice little cafe tucked in a corner wall. I am not sure if they have seating options inside but mostly people order from the counter facing out and take away. Cofffe is simply amazing, very good quality and taste. Definitely worth it. They also have their signature Fenctercino which is coffee in a cone. It's a very unique idea but basically the same coffee served in a cone rather than a cup. Now €4-5 coffee costs €11 if it's in the cone. That's ridiculously expensive with nothing different in the coffee, a waffle is not worth so many euros. Basically paying for their 💡 idea. We still tried to see what it exactly is and it's just an experience that we pay so much. Would justify something like €8 max for this not €11. Also, no cash accepted. The lady at the counter was also the barista is very friendly, smiling and patiently doing the honors of serving the coffe in a cone while being recorded by almost every visitor for this unique exp. 👍 for her attitude and 5...
Read moreWhen I asked where I could drink the best coffee in Vienna, It was recommended to me a small place called Fenster Café. I went and ordered a double espresso without milk and took out my wallet to pay, and the lady who makes coffee told me that payment is only by card. I said I only had cash with me. She then asked me if I didn't have a card in Vienna at all or I didn't have one with me? I replied that I did not have a card with me at the moment. She told me, "Never mind, next time!" I wasn't sure if she thought I would come for coffee next time or that she would make me coffee and pay for it next time. Then she just handed the coffee out the window, smiled and said, "Enjoy your coffee and come to us again!" And I really have never drunk better coffee.
The next day I came back and said, "Please, 2 cups of coffee to take away and to pay what I owe from yesterday!" The lady who worked the day before recognized me, smiled and said, "Thank you!" And I added,...
