The breads are just gorgeous. The best in Vienna. I can say this because, without using that overused word "foodie", well, I guess, I am a foodie. And since I started living in Vienna, I have searched far and wide for good bread and have always gone back time and again to buy my daily 'brot' from this branch, because it is the closest to me. I have to preface what I'm about to say with this: that having been in charge of four successful cafes, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that polite, accommodating, and tactful customer service is king and key to continued success. To get to the point, three of the regular male staff at the bread/takeout coffee counter are rude and at one instant, made my sister (who was visiting from overseas) cry with comments they were making to her face (obviously they thought that she couldn't understand a word of German). I don't want to describe their physical appearance because it might indicate some sort of racial profiling and that's definitely what this is about. I know that if they were like that to myself and to some others, the truth will out sooner and later, and word...
Read moreMy wonderful day trip in Vienna was followed by a coffee break which was supposed to be here . For the fair remarks i would add that the quality of pastries and the expensive coffee machine with quality beans is a highlight in this place . Being busy with nice people and them noticing every customer is something they were good at , however what they were NOT good is the way the waiter could treat my friend . I was being late for 10 minutes and they were in the queue waiting for the table , waiter did not even want to hear that instead of 4 its going to be 5 people by "suggesting" that i can come later and wait in the queue and only THEN i can join my friends , since my they didn't want me to be in uncomfortable situation , i do believe that if the waiter had more patience he would organise it in a way that we didn't have to leave the place , however it did not happen followed by his irritated tone and lack of quality experience in the field . If you do care about individual experience , maybe the manager could teach them how not to turn a small thing into...
Read moreJoseph brot is a very nice chain of bakeries, great for a brunch over WE. We went to the one close to Cafe Sacher on a Sunday morning at 10.we ordered a full breakfast (can't remember the name, there was egg ham cheese bread, etc), poached eggs with salmon, one capuccino, a herbal tea and a chai latte. The complete breakfast plate was very gokd and generous, the bread and especially kipferl absolutely gorgeous. Chai latte was the best I drank in a long time. I was disappointed with my poached eggs as tgey were completely covered with hollandaise sauce and the bread too was soaked. I like the cream, but that was too much for me. On the top of that, although it was a busy Sunday morning, it took one hour to be served, and once I got the eggs, they were lukewarmish not hot, as they had been sitting somewhere for a while. I would have given 5 stars for food, but because of this I couldn't. I would recommend this place, but if you're in a hurry maybe not. Also the final bill was quite price, plates were abundant but we paid over 50 euro for a breakfast in...
