The breads are just gorgeous. The best in Vienna. I can say this because, without using that overused word "foodie", well, I guess, I am a foodie. And since I started living in Vienna, I have searched far and wide for good bread and have always gone back time and again to buy my daily 'brot' from this branch, because it is the closest to me. I have to preface what I'm about to say with this: that having been in charge of four successful cafes, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that polite, accommodating, and tactful customer service is king and key to continued success. To get to the point, three of the regular male staff at the bread/takeout coffee counter are rude and at one instant, made my sister (who was visiting from overseas) cry with comments they were making to her face (obviously they thought that she couldn't understand a word of German). I don't want to describe their physical appearance because it might indicate some sort of racial profiling and that's definitely what this is about. I know that if they were like that to myself and to some others, the truth will out sooner and later, and word...

My wonderful day trip in Vienna was followed by a coffee break which was supposed to be here . For the fair remarks i would add that the quality of pastries and the expensive coffee machine with quality beans is a highlight in this place . Being busy with nice people and them noticing every customer is something they were good at , however what they were NOT good is the way the waiter could treat my friend . I was being late for 10 minutes and they were in the queue waiting for the table , waiter did not even want to hear that instead of 4 its going to be 5 people by "suggesting" that i can come later and wait in the queue and only THEN i can join my friends , since my they didn't want me to be in uncomfortable situation , i do believe that if the waiter had more patience he would organise it in a way that we didn't have to leave the place , however it did not happen followed by his irritated tone and lack of quality experience in the field . If you do care about individual experience , maybe the manager could teach them how not to turn a small thing into...

Joseph brot is a very nice chain of bakeries, great for a brunch over WE. We went to the one close to Cafe Sacher on a Sunday morning at 10.we ordered a full breakfast (can't remember the name, there was egg ham cheese bread, etc), poached eggs with salmon, one capuccino, a herbal tea and a chai latte. The complete breakfast plate was very gokd and generous, the bread and especially kipferl absolutely gorgeous. Chai latte was the best I drank in a long time. I was disappointed with my poached eggs as tgey were completely covered with hollandaise sauce and the bread too was soaked. I like the cream, but that was too much for me. On the top of that, although it was a busy Sunday morning, it took one hour to be served, and once I got the eggs, they were lukewarmish not hot, as they had been sitting somewhere for a while. I would have given 5 stars for food, but because of this I couldn't. I would recommend this place, but if you're in a hurry maybe not. Also the final bill was quite price, plates were abundant but we paid over 50 euro for a breakfast in...

If you’re in Vienna and looking for the perfect spot to start your day, Joseph Brot is an absolute must-visit. Located just a stone’s throw away from Stephansplatz, this charming cafe offers an exceptional experience for coffee and breakfast lovers alike. The coffee here is simply outstanding – rich, flavorful, and crafted to perfection. Whether you’re a fan of a creamy cappuccino or a strong espresso, they have something to satisfy every coffee enthusiast. And the breakfast options? Absolutely delightful. From freshly baked artisan bread to wholesome, beautifully presented dishes, there’s plenty to choose from, whether you’re in the mood for something savory or sweet. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a morning meal, especially after exploring the nearby iconic landmarks. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall exceptional experience. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to visit Joseph Brot – it’s a hidden gem that combines quality, taste, and convenience in the heart of Vienna.

Breads look incredible but if you want a slice, even at the cafe, or something a little different the answer, to me on a Sunday anyway, was 'no'. Also, not really clear from the quite expensive menu what you are going to get as far as the bread is concerned. If you are visiting the city and want to throw your luck into buying a half loaf or if you want a fancy cafe then fine but I came for the bread...and compared to other places, seems service is not so good...did not feel at all that they were interested in helping me... I ordered the omlette that came with potato bread...yeah, eggs and bread are somewhere under that lettuce in the pic below. Wife got the avocado toast so closer to what I was hoping for and she did give me a bite, but... Ok, it looks good enough but when you are dying for a slice of hearty sourdough bread (I told them first thing that I was there for the bread....it is a bakery, right?) with maybe a little butter in the land of awesome bread then you show up to this place and leave unsatisfied...
