We entered the place because it was fricking cold outside and it happened to be just along the street by the tourist area. The venue inside was nothing special, rather indictive of the chain character of the restaurant. The waiters were ok and till here everything was fine. Later on, I felt the need to visit the rest room and on taking downstairs a terrible odour caught me as I was walking down the staircase. When I returned our food was there. Nothing special here either. I confirm what others have written about a charge of 0.9 € per sachette of mayonnese or ketchup. The worst part though came in the end. I was right in front of my boss when the waiter came in for the bill but actually I wasn't paying attention as I was searching for something on my mobile phone. Yet I sensed that there was a mini dialogue about a tip to which my boss concured despite one last conversation we had the other night about the leech tipping situation that the US is currently facing, Right after exiting the restaurant I asked my boss if the waiter had asked for a tip. He nodded positively. "And you accepted..." I added in disappointment. To my sheer surprise he said with a cutting edge like tone "NO!" "What no?" "He asked and I denied. But he went on saying that the service was not included.. so I backed in" At this point I was already feeling my blood boiling. "But why did you have to succumb? You should have said NOOO! and if he inisisted the answer would still be NO and then we should see what happens." I was in distress. We were scammed. What's worse is the fact that this virus that has taken over the US is coming straight forward into Europe and it seems there's space and time to conquer here. I definitely DISCOURAGE anyone to visit this certain place but since it's right in the middle of a touristy area fresh victims will get milked day by day. So, why would the...
Read moreFood & service OK but generally below average, price outrageous for what we got.
Don't bother waiting to be seated. It's quicker and easier to just sit down. You must put in effort to flag down waiters to put in your order and when you want to pay. Waiter was friendly enough when you finally get their attention though.
I had the original Viennese schnitzel (veal) with parsley potatoes. Firstly, though it is large, do not expect it to be full of meat as per my photo. Second, it was a very average schnitzel. I've had much better from random pubs in Australia... Or the fast food chain Schnitz. It's not the coating that's the problem (actually pleasantly crunchy) but the meat itself. The texture when eating was almost like a weird mince though I could see it was not. The potatoes were nice and seemed to have a light creamy coating.
My husband ordered the pork spare ribs. It was prepared very differently from what we're used to (American or Asian) in that it was crunchy outside and the texture inside was something like corned beef. I didn't mind it but my husband disliked it. The fried potatoes were great and crispy but the sauces appeared to have been portioned earlier in the day, or maybe yesterday. You can see in my photo they've formed a thick discoloured skin on top... Icky.
Total meal price,...
Read moreVery bad experience. We entered the restaurant to eat something, nobody welcomed us, nobody said anything, the stuff was overwhelmed. When i asked a waiter if they have a table for 3 (there were tables, but they had to be cleaned up) he told me that it will take 5 min. Of course he forgot about us. When a table was finally cleaned to sit at it, another waiter said no, because the people behind us have a reservation. All good but there were plenty of tables free, only to be cleaned up. Even if we were with a child of 3years old nobody cared. We left immediately and honestly, i don't recommended at all. Such service should not be happening. It is very disrespectful. There are a lot of other restaurants very close...
