I really don’t understand the good reviews. There are so many incredible bars in Vienna but this is not one of them. Let’s start simple… leaving your coat at the entrance of the bar will cost you 1.50€, A PIECE. This is a service that all bars I’ve been to, even more luxurious ones offer it for free. Then, entering the bar feels like you are sucked into a dystopian fantasy. The waiters are not friendly at all and the bartender has no idea what he is doing. I always order a Negroni at all bars so that I am able to form an opinion based on the same drink. And this tasting left me wondering… is it so difficult to mix such a basic cocktail? My Negroni was served WITH A MARASCHINO CHERRY and a plastic mixing stick. And if you check the photos here, apparently they love putting the cherries in every cocktail. Maybe to cover the horrendous taste of the cheap drinks. The peanuts were already on the table when we arrived which felt quite unhygienic. The music at the place was a random generic beat, not matching the original character of the bar whatsoever. The bar was obviously repurposed and the owners kept the name for obvious reasons. Then one of the waitresses proceeded with offering us chocolates out of a bowl, which you may say is nice but it felt completely random and out of place. And the cherry on top (which is unfortunately not tastier than the maraschino cherry in my cocktail), was the screen on the wall that displayed the different flavors of tonics you can buy at the bar and the moving photo of Mona Lisa drinking a Red Bull. The cocktail prices are just absurd! 14,5-16€ for the most basic cocktail which you can get at the most luxurious bars in Vienna for 12-14€. Oh and let’s not forget the Christmas decorations and the Christmas music coming out of the cheap toys by the entrance which made the experience feel even more dystopian (btw it’s the end of January). I regret my money and my time. Do yourselves the favor and go anywhere else. Answer to the disturbing comment of the bar: First, a maraschino cherry has no place in a Negroni. It’s a classic cocktail that doesn’t need random add-ons like stirrers (which, by the way, are unnecessary since the drink should already be stirred). I didn’t request either of those and I certainly didn’t enjoy them. You mentioned your “250 cocktails,” yet you choose to advertise tonics on a screen. If your bar’s offerings are as exceptional as you say, why not highlight those instead? Also, I didn’t receive any of the water you claim is served, so that’s a miss too. As for my supposed “15-minute” stay—actually, I was there for 35 minutes, which you seem to have observed quite closely. Since you’re tracking guest durations, I can only assume the bar was rather empty. I don’t appreciate being watched and frankly, it adds an uncomfortable layer to an already disappointing experience. Let me also address your suggestion that I’m being paid to leave negative reviews. That’s absurd. I’m a very positive person, as anyone can see from my numerous glowing reviews of Viennese bars. Yours simply doesn’t belong in that category and I am fully within my right to share my honest opinion. Just learn to accept criticism instead of trying to manipulate customers with your AI generated responses. I didn’t complain about the cocktail on the spot because I had no desire to try another of your “magical elixirs,” nor did I want to spend another minute in what can only be described as a bizarre and disappointing experience. Oh and let me quote your website: Auch musikalisch: zu hören sind Klassiker von Sinatra, Dean Martin, Aretha Franklin, genauso wie moderne Tunes des Jazz, Swing und Soul. Thanks for admitting that you were playing pop beats and misleading customers. And yes, life is indeed too short to waste on negativity—or on mediocre bars. For that reason, I won’t be returning.

Great classic American bar - leather couches, dim lights, selection of cigars at the entrance. All the spirits you could want. It is on the more expensive side, although not overly so factoring in its location and quality of drinks. The bartender is always happy to give recommendations, personally I’m sticking to the classics as they are always done exactly right. Naturally there’s a divide between the smoking and non-smoking area, however the glass wall and door is not exactly great at keeping them separate - so if you absolutely can’t stand the smell of smoke, you should be looking for other places. Aside from that, it’s a very solid choice for drinks.

I recently visited Kruger’s American Bar that left me thoroughly impressed. Not only were their cocktails delicious, but the overall atmosphere was fun and cool. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly, making excellent recommendations based on my preferences. Each drink was crafted with precision and creativity, showcasing the bartender's skill. I had a fantastic time trying new and unique concoctions. If you're looking for a great cocktail experience with top-notch service, this bar is a must-visit in Vienna.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my boyfriend's birthday at Kruger's American Bar, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.

The bar itself exudes charm and character, with a unique American-themed decor that instantly transports you to another time and place. The selection of drinks at Kruger's is great. The attention to detail in the drinks was evident, and it was clear that the bartenders take pride in their creations. Whether you prefer a timeless favorite or want to try something new, you can trust that the drinks at Kruger's American Bar will leave you thoroughly satisfied.

But what truly made our visit unforgettable was the exceptional service we received. The staff at Kruger's went above and beyond to make my boyfriend's birthday celebration truly special. They helped me brilliantly in organizing the surprise, ensuring everything was perfect. They surprised us by showing up with a delicious birthday cake, accompanied by a round of drinks and even table fountains! It was a truly magical moment, and my boyfriend was overjoyed.

The kindness and attentiveness of the staff throughout the evening were remarkable. They consistently checked on us, making sure we had everything we needed and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Their genuine friendliness and professionalism truly made us feel like valued guests.

If you're looking for a bar that combines excellent drinks with top-notch service, look no further than Kruger's American Bar. Whether it's a special occasion or simply a night out with friends, this place is a hidden gem. I cannot recommend it enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Thank you, Kruger's, for making my boyfriend's birthday celebration unforgettable. You guys...

Drinks were 5 stars - you can get anything imaginable and all drinks we had were excellent (Manhattan, French 75, Bellini, Mojito). The atmosphere is great and they play nice music.

The service, however, was a huge let-down, and you will have to fight tooth and nail to place your order from a group of fairly arrogant waiters. The first greeting we got was someone asking us in to move tables because they were reserved (not apparent), then changing his mind immediately after and presented it as if he was doing us a massive favour. Then we waited 35 minutes and still no one had come by with menus. We got them ourselves at the bar just prior to the waiter coming with them. Then we waited really long to actually place an order and ended up having to order at...
