Had lunch here just today and I’ve never been so disappointed in such unprofessional service. We started not on the best first impression when we asked for a table of 2 and it took the waiters a good 10 minutes to find us a table (there were about a couple empty clean tables already but it seemed the staff was too busy chatting around). When we were seated it took them over 15 minutes taking our food and drinks order. The drinks arrived after the starter was already served (seemingly it requires longer to get a Coca-cola and a sparkling water than making a carpaccio). The portion of the carpaccio was more on the smaller side and quite pricey but that’s something you might expect from being in the center of Vienna. Once the starters were cleared that’s when they literally became ridiculous. After over 50 mins of being ignored we finally manage to get the attention of a waiter to ask about our main courses, the answer is “they are coming in few minutes, kitchen must’ve lost the ticket, or would you like to ask for some more time?”… incredible that after all this time none of the waiters noticed that we’ve been waiting for our food while other tables that arrived after us were been served already. My pasta arrives while my partner’s pizza is yet nowhere to be seen. After an abundantl 10 minutes I start to eat my main while my partner goes to ask regarding her main course. Once she ask one of the waiters completely ignores her and start to speak in German (which is ridiculous and disrespectful in this context)… another 10 minutes passed and we finally get her pizza (not a bad pizza but still nothing worth mentioning). We are offered a dessert plate and ask the bill straight away to avoid spending other hours in that circus. Waited again 20 minutes for the bill and when I call the attention of one of the waiters he makes a face like “oh, I’ve forgot their bill”. Absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional and appalling experience. I’ve been working in hospitality for over 16 years now and I understand that a bad day can happen but this is simply not acceptable and so many of these mistakes could’ve been avoided with just a little of attention to the service and to the guest. Next time I would rather go to McDonald than...
Read moreMy experience with this restaurant was spoiled by one accident. As I left the place I realized that I left the envelope with 100€, which was my birthday gift. Calling to the restaurant didn’t help, cause the waiter didn’t give me the clear answer and asked to call tomorrow, so I went back to the restaurant. There I was told that nothing had been left on my table and asked to come tomorrow again, when there would be the manager so I could watch the video from surveillance cameras. When I came the next day I had a short conversation with the very disagreeable manager, who said that they had no camera, didn't even give me a chance to explain the whole situation and aggressively interrupted me with the words: “Talk to your waiter”. Then I was standing near the bar counter for 5 minutes waiting for someone to come and answer my question. There I met the owner of that place. He was pretty nice to me, listened to everything I said and tried to help, asking waiters and manger if they found my envelope. Their answer was no. The waiter who told me that if I come the next day, I can watch the video from the cameras couldn't give me an explanation of why he said that. The situation left an awful impression of the restaurant. So I you want to have a delicious dinner, you should definitely try this place, but keep a close eye on your stuff, especially on those that have...
Read moreIt's one of those places where i couldn't relax because i felt like i had to stay vigilant for any potential money traps. For an example: you have to pay one euro per person just to be seated, something that's been written in the menu but is really easy to miss. My boyfriend ordered a pizza and asked to switch artichokes for onions. The waiter informed him he can do that without any additional cost. The waiter later came back to inform him it would actually cost 2 euros but that he would pay for it. It felt like a guilttripping move from waiter's side. The waiter was polite but seemed really thirsty for tips. In the end he even asked for a tip actually. Last time I checked tipping was voluntary. He also told us his only pay is the tips he receives. If that's really the case then the restaurant is in serious breach of Vienna's worker protection regulation. What i actually think happened: he was trying to extract more money from us. We didn't fall for it. I couldn't relax in this atmosphere where i felt the restaurant was seeing me as a walking ATM. The food was mediocre. It didn't taste like authentic Italian food. I don't believe that the restaurant is owned by actual Italians, but by people of different origin riding the Italian...
