The Truth Wollzeile — Restaurant in Vienna

I really enjoyed being here during the weekdays when the place is practically empty. But oh boy, what a nightmare it was - visiting on a Sunday! The cafe itself is tiny which is not a problem in itself, but with that amount of people it felt really uncomfortable. I was sitting on a small chair next to the table (as my partner was sitting on the couch, and there was no more space on the couch), and almost every time someone came into the cafe, they had to touch my back. I could not move any closer to the table, that was really uncomfortable! I think that if the cafe is at full capacity then the people should wait outside and not inside ☹️ that really killed the mood and we wanted to leave as soon as possible. On to the food and drinks - the cheesecake was magnificent as always. The coffee is generally okay (not great though compared to other places) but the specialties are usually way too sweet to my taste. Also, no...

The cheesecake was awesome - burnt top layer was fragrant while the rest is the cake melts in the mouth, creamy without being cloying and not too sweet. The chocolate muffin was average - dense and firm with chocolate chips. The coffee was a let down. Latte with a single shot was weak, may do better with a double. Verlangerter (americano) was bitter, not sure if it's cos of over extraction. Seating capacity and space was limited so it's good for a quick pit stop than to chill.

Update: When I was leaving, owner of the café shared with me that their latte is meant to be milky and their Verlangerter is exactly how they designed it to be. I think it's just a matter of differences in interpretation as I was judging from what I was used to - Australian / third wave coffee culture. He also offered to make me another cup though I didn't take it up I hit my caffeine cap. Kudos and respect for him for taking pride...
