Well that was a disappointing. We just got off our trip to swim with piggy’s which was a lot of fun. But that’s a different review …. We wanted to extend our amazing day with a drink and a couple appetizers. The place was empty, but for the 10 staff pretty much. So we waited for a server, I decided to use the rest room so I said to my wife, “ hey, when they come, I’ll have a Heineken please” so after finding the restrooms through the gift shop and 3 doors, plus 3 doors back only to have her say “ ya, no body has come yet”. I was suprised because there was so many staff around behind the bar, we waited even longer. Finally a waitress came and we ordered our food and drinks. As in Bahamas form we all got our food at different times, which we have come to accept. But my drink never did come at all. So after a bit, and the meal half over my wife went to the bar to get my beer (I said wait, but she insisted on some GD service). “We will bring it over” and my wife said, NO, I’ll wait and bring it thanks” Our meal was ok, the atmosphere of boats coming and going was cool, watching folks getting of the boat experiences go the day was fun to watch. This place has the perfect location, I was surprised how empty it was really. Now I know why. As we waited for anyone to come and see how our meal was or or drinks for a refill, no one came. We even waited a while for or server to bring the bill, but no one came. I said to my family “ where can the server even be, there isn’t even anyone at the entire restaurant ? Finally we walked over to the bar so we could get our bill. They looked suprised and said yes her it is and we paid. On our way out I just needed to know where everyone was!! As we passed the back side of the bar we witnessed that they were all watching a basketball game. Now our tip was already pre determined at 15%, so we could not reflect the poor service in the tip department because that part was chiseled. The staff don’t give a crap here because their tips are insured. The service was probably the worst we have experienced in Bahamas, and that’s not much praise given the tip insurance they all have here. Our pig swimming experience was amazing even though it’s trained pigs getting their food in and out of the water, but WAY better than the service of the staff at the Jimmy Buffet Paradise island franchise. The owners of this bar need to take some action or I think Jimmy Buffet will send his lawyers to take back...
Read moreFirst timer at Margaritaville N. I was extremely impressed. To start, I travel for work and it has been very stressful lately with Covid.
Upon arriving at the establishment (which I did not stay at as my company put me elsewhere) for dinner. Upon arrival the security outside was very strict about letting anybody in who did not have a vaccine or a negative Covid test. They will check you at the door! However, all are welcomed! 😇 You will walk in… you will sanitize your hands and have your temperature checked. The staff is very friendly, and they have positive vibes and are eager to see all travelers. My coworker and I decided to go for dinner at the “vacation café” one of many restaurants on premise which I highly recommend. It’s important to note the hotel is brand new, they have only been open three months. We were seated, and well greeted. Ian was our server and he was fabulous! He was well educated on the menu. Very welcoming and made me my favorite drink, a “orange crush” with cherry on top and orange slice on the side. I was excited to eat off their menu as they had a lovely assortment of seafood. My coworker got the guava ribs which were absolutely amazing, he said they were the best ribs he’s actually ever had! I can attest to this as I may have helped finish his meal ;) I on the other hand had the lobster salad. It was so pretty I didn’t even want to eat it! Had to snap this picture. They followed up the meal with hot towels with lemon which made me feel luxurious. I am a big foodie and I like to rate my overall experience based on the atmosphere, the staff, the food, the service, and the timing. I can wholeheartedly say I can give them a 10 out of 10! I am no critic, as I work for the airlines. However, I will make sure I book at the Margaritaville for my stay the next time I am in Nassau. If you’re thinking of staying whether it be with children, or not I believe you will love every bit of this hotel! They have multiple restaurants, a wonderful waterpark with great upkeep. They do daily admission for those who are not staying at the hotel which includes a lazy river, slides, and wave pool for surfers. Parents can watch their kids try to surf as they have a cocktail at the water park bar with view of the beach. Can’t wait to be back! - next time I’ll be sure to order the chocolate nachos for dessert...
Read moreHad an absolutely horrible experience here this past Thursday. Our waitress places our appetizers on the table as well as a sterno in the middle as she said it was to keep the flies away. The paper under our southwest egg rolls catches fire from the sterno and 4-5 of the staff members had to come help us put it out. Blowing it, pour water and patting the fire out. Once it was out we asked the waitress if she can please take that item off the bill as we were unable to eat it after that. She said NO. We questioned her asking why if she just seem that the platter caught on fire. She said she going to get the manager. The manager never comes over to us. But we happen to see her walking by. I asked if the waitress explained to her what happened, she says “Yes, but was it our fault?” She then argued back and forth with us about not taking it off the bill because 2 out of 8 of the egg rolls were eaten and it wasn’t their fault. Never asking if we were Okay, or would we like the platter replaced. She then asked if “we were done” speaking then proceeds to the kitchen. Shortly after the waitress comes out, drops the bill at the table and walks off. All items were still on the bill. We kindly crossed out the items on the menu that caught on fire and left the remaining balance in cash and left out the open area by the bar. We heard the staff saying “CALL THE COPS” as we were walking outside of the building. They followed us all the way to the street as we got into a taxi and they stop the taxi and said left out on our bill and the cops are on the way for us so we had to get out and proceeded to walk. The police finally came and sided with us because we explained to him exactly what happened and that we did pay the bill. The manager then tells the cop that she removed the items off the bill AFTER we left but we already left and the staff already started following us. The police let us go and puts us in a taxi back to our hotel. This was the worst experience ever. The food was also not good. Spinach dip was disappointing and the chips were...
