De Rien — Restaurant in Bruges

The restaurant was dark and uninviting, the staff were atrocious beyond belief, we decided on the restaurant due to having seats outside but were greeted with an aggressive waiter who was adamant that we had to have food and the most expensive beer on their list. I had the Mussels in curry and cream sauce which were ok but most of the mussels themselves had fallen out of the shells and were in the base so could have been just shells and packed mussels ?? Well the food and beer were ok but when I asked to use the convenience he said they never had one and then my wife returned stating she had just been?? The waiter was demanding the money from me so I took my time on purpose just to wind him up some more! We went as a 4 some and we are all in our 60’s so know what to expect from a prime located spot in the middle of town, instead the place was a pleasure get away from. I would advise all booking this place ( can’t really call it a restaurant) to consider alternative places first as I’m sure others have also had the same horrendous time we had. Dave...

TERRIBLE PLACE!! EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE! I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE 1 STAR!! I would not even sit there to drink water! But unfortunately We, as a family, went to this place to drink tea. We also wanted to taste their rabbit hence wanted to know how it is cooked first. The waiter did not care to explain, he had a chewing gum in his month. He said that pay for the teas first then I explain! We did not even finish our teas. In any case, Who says that! Separately the restaurant asked to move the table of disabled people to another table because they wanted to give it to a larger group. This was extremely insensitive towards any person let alone a disabled person. There was no sign of politeness or kindness even when the waiter asked. They could at least aid the disabled person in moving from one table to another. On top of it we explained this to the person in charge he did nothing! Simply nothing ! I have never faced with such incompetency, insensitivity and rudeness...

Absolutely terrible. We went the first weekend of December when it was nice and busy with the christmas market. We chose this restaurant because it had a better deal on than some of the others and it had some free tables. It was late in the evening so it wasn’t rammed. We were basically ignored the entire time we were there. The older man turned and started to walk off while we were still ordering!!! Then when we received our food a portion of fries was missing but because nobody came back to us we didn’t bother mentioning it. The younger lad came to clear our table and brought us dessert menus. THEN DISAPPEARED AND NEVER CAME BACK. We eventually flagged down a woman 20 minutes later, after sitting and trying to get someone’s attention the entire time, with no drinks or anything in front of us, who was actually quite pleasant and asked her for the bill because no way were they getting any more money off us.
