In short - very bad service, Food is below average, and misleading menu. My hotel manager recommended the fries, so we pooped by. First thing we saw was the lunch menu offer at €28. When I asked for it, I was told it’s only available if you book in advance (!?). However it was prominently displayed at the door and is definitely misleading (see attached photo) Trying to make eye contact with a waiter is tough - good luck with that, and more on that later, and there were only 5 occupied tables! During lunch the waitress actually knocked our bottle of water when serving. While the bottle did not break, the water splashed on to me. But there was word of no apology (no eye contact even), no replacement of the bottle, and the puddle of water was left in the floor the whole meal. We were getting a bit unhappy and quickly finished our food to leave. I looked at the “manager” (or at least the oldest guy there) who made eye contact (finally), but before I could raise my hand to ask for the bill, he actually looked away! Couldn’t wait to get out and when I went back in to use the toilet, the lady again gave me a death stare (I guess for us having the audacity to cause her to drop the bottle) Wish I had walked out when I was told about the set menu reservation requirement… should have trusted my gut

Came for the second time because their garlic butter mussels is simply splendid! Portion was smaller and price was higher, not sure will return for third. Lobster was terribly overcooked. Angus steak was surprisingly delightful. The mushroom sauce did an excellent job to elevate the taste of the steak. Waiters on the other hand were obnoxiously cold and arrogant, except for the one that served the food from the kitchen. He should be hired to give lessons for the others on what hospitality really means in horeca business.

Our impression of this restaurant with quite good food was irrevocably spoiled by the boorish attitude of the staff to the law on the circulation of money. Wanting to close the bill with a 500 euro note, we were met with a refusal of this note due to the "special rules of policy" of this establishment. Despite our statement about the lack of other means of payment, we were demonstratively slapped in the face by indifference from the local staff under the wrapper of a complete lack of desire to compromise. Moreover, neither common sense nor the law of the country, which states that a restaurant has no right to refuse to accept banknotes issued by the European Union, had any effect on the restaurant staff.

Then the waiter called the police and in the course of clarifying the matter, which took us almost an hour to nowhere, the banknote was accepted. Having first checked the documents confirming the identity. Well, apparently, all that remains is to come to the conclusion that this restaurant is a proponent of lawlessness in dealing with money, as well as a totally disregardful attitude towards the comfort of...

Mussels were delicious, but my parents and I were not treated well by our waiter. I understand the concept of ordering enough for the entire party, however my parents are vegetarian and they accompanied me to eat here so that I could enjoy some mussels and fries while in Belgium. Perhaps I have to leave my parents outside and eat alone just to be treated well? They ordered a side salad and an onion soup (which even had pieces of ham but they just tried to eat around it and be a good sport). They also do not drink alcohol so did not order any. The waiter showed his disapproval and said we have to understand his position. I explained our situation and apologized, but he made us feel really bad. I would understand if it was during a really busy hour and we were taking up a table that could be given to a party with four seafood eaters, however it was late in the afternoon and there were other empty tables. I cannot remember the last time I was treated to feel so poorly with my poor parents who felt super guilty about not being able to...
