1,5 stars max. It was today, around 11am. 40+ minutes wait for a bagel and soup, and some pancakes. Staff pleasant enough. Bagel was absolutely dreadful - stale and very dry. The knives were not sharp enough to cut through it. I told a staff member about it, and she said she'd ask her colleague to knock the cost off. I ate it all as I was so.. (note - the pathetic censorship bot thing couldn't cope with a 'profanity' - i.e. the word for blood, with a 'y' on the end: my review was banned because of such a heinous crime).. flippin'' hungry after such a long wait.

Eventually got to pay and leave, and the staff member who took our payment was apologetic. It was later outside that I realised that I'd still been charged for the (note - the pathetic censorship bot thing couldn't cope with a 'profanity' - i.e. the word 'parc' backwards: my review was banned because of such a heinous crime).. SIMPLY GHASTLY bagel. Couldn't honestly be bothered to return and tell them.

The place itself isn't a bad environment; I'd honestly say that if you're hungry or don't have much time, then maybe consider somewhere else.

Oh, and my mate wasn't that impressed with the size of the pancakes; although they were apparently tasty. Wish I could have said the same about my.. hmm.. fairly dodgy 😏 offering.

What's interesting is that I see the lower rated reviews respond with empty promises - because I amended my review just now (see above) - it looks like I went there today. It was actually Feb '23. The responses indicate things will change. Clearly, they...

Avoid! This used to be a great place to eat/drink when it was the Haagen Daaz ice cream cafe, right on the square good food etc but things have changed. We 1st tried to get some food for lunch but when we walked in their wasn’t a clean table & the dirty plates cups etc piled on the counter was a disgrace, I could tell they were either short staffed or poorly ran. customer service was terrible. Stood around for a good few minutes waiting but there was no staff around & when one did turn up she ignored us, nobody seemed bothered about sorting a table and seating us, so we left. We returned for breakfast a couple of days later. We sat at the table for a good 10 minutes (I had a work email to reply to) there was a young lady behind the counter who was more interested in filling salt/pepper/sugar pots than to see if we or any of the other two sets of customers that came in wanted a drink or to take an order, so we again left. This used to be one of our ‘go to’ places every year & we HAD noticed a down turn in the service and food quality on the last visit but I don’t think we’ll go back as there is no lack of...

Do not eat here unless you want to risk being unwell with the poor hygiene of the place! Staff were unprofessional and the kitchen was disgusting. The floor under our table had loads of food under it, my mum had to mop the floor with the mop that was just left out. The staff chucked half of my group out while they were waiting for us while we used the toilet - that was also in major disrepair with toilet seat missing. The staff then proceeded to sarcastically smile and wave us off at a table that they were all sitting down at (rather than cleaning the filthy restaurant) while we were standing outside as they were not happy that we were looking at the state of the kitchen and taking pictures of it. Staff also pressured us to pay in cash which we didn’t have. The whole place needs to be restaffed with professional people rather than young kids that have come to work to socialise and not actually...

This bar/café is set in the heart of the Grote Markt on 2 floors. It gives a feeling of both modern and rustic at the same time. We were there just for drinks but many locals and tourists were there for brunch – we love how they have such a wide variety of drinks and food items. The matcha latte and latte macchiato were super hot and delicious, and I’m glad they were both unsweetened. They even offer milk alternatives for your beverages at an additional price. The WC is located on the 3rd floor on a winding staircase, but it was very clean. The servers are friendly and quick (they may not smile until you smile at them, but they are very polite). We never once felt rushed, so it’s a nice relaxing break after many hours of walking and exploring the old town. Great vibe and atmosphere overall while relaxing here and escaping the other crowds outdoors.

Good vibe and more exciting menu than the other tourist cafe's in the area pulled us in. Food was OK, but not more. One major flaw in our case: it took no less than 50 minutes to prepare a bagel and an sandwich? The taste was average and didn't feel entirely fresh? We may have been unlucky, but we're not offered any compensation for waiting almost an hour. Heading to the restroom, you could look into the kitchen and it looked like a war had raged. Utensils and food floating everywhere. Would have been closed if it was like that in Norway (where I'm from).
