Stadsmuur en Villerstoren — Attraction in Brussels

Part of the old city fortifications, around 800 years old, consisting of a stretch of wall and a defensive tower, the Tour de Villers. In the 14th century, construction started on a new wall further out from the historic town centre and most of this first rampart was dismantled. The section seen here survived, largely because it was hidden behind other buildings, which were in turn demolished in the 1950s. The wall and tower were then repaired and restored somewhat to their former medieval glory. A section of wall to the right of the Tour de Villers collapsed suddenly in 2018....

Realmente vale la pena la visita. Ojo que se agotan las entradas (fin de junio) y venden x para cada hora. Fuimos por la mañana y conseguimos entradas por la tarde. Comprar on line. La audio guía es gratis, pero en la traducción al español se utiliza vocablos no aptos para menores, con tanto las atrocidades y relaciones de la época. El castillo en si es muy interesante, estuvimos hora y cuarto/y...

Restos de la 1ª muralla que rodeaba la ciudad antigua y que fue construida en el siglo XIII. La 2ª muralla se construyo un siglo después para mantener la seguridad al quedarse la primera pequeña. El trayecto de la segunda muralla corresponde a la actual circunvalación interior de Bruselas, que se construyó tras el derribo de la muralla...
