This is definitely a top 3 contender for best Japanese restaurants in Brussels. This very well decorated place offers delicious flavorful food in a good portion for a good price. They have really fast and good service. Such patient staff because I could overhear a waiter tending to an elderly man for over 5 minutes and even though the man was annoying, the waiter kept their composure. Very impressive. Food wise you have a lot of options but where I feel like they lose points to get that 5 star rating is the drinks. You don’t have a lot of options drink wise and the Japanese drinks on the menu aren’t labeled with a description so you don’t know what you’re ordering. Overall I definitely recommend this place!

My doctor told me i have kidney problem and i know why: i had ramen in Takumi. i came for its high review 4.6 and ultimately disappointed, i had the black garlic ramen, the MSG stock is so so, the pork is tender but the bamboo and egg is salty as if it came from dead sea...when do japan food add "salty" egg in their ramen? and why is there....Bakkchoi, as a veteran in ramen-ology for my experierence in Japan, never have I seen Japanese add this chinese classicbvegetable to ramen. I figured this restro must be a Chinese operated Japanese style, and the food itself, is no where near 4.6. Hey people, stop lifting low-value Asian restro like that and save us from getting kidney problem.

New addition to the Takumi chain restaurants (yes, not so authentic Japanese as such). I must be honest, I enjoyed the food at this new location. I was not impressed by my previous experiences at the Takumi restaurants in Antwerp and Brussels. The restaurant serves ramen, traditional Japanese curry dishes and other Asian food. The atmosphere is causal and cozy. The space is small and they will squeeze you in tables very close to other customers. It can get a bit noisy. Staff was kind. I loved the vegetarian gyoza. Mint tea with honey was overpriced (4.20 euros). You will spend around 20/25 euros for a meal with a drink.

Terrible service.

We arrived around 3:30 p.m., tired and hungry after a good sightseeing tour of the city. The place wasn't overly crowded; there were plenty of seats, and most people were already served or about to leave, but it didn't matter.

First, it was hard for the waitresses to notice that we were standing outside, waiting and queuing to be served, and they refused to let us in. After a few minutes, and not very politely, we were served and said we'd rather be inside than outside.

Once inside, we spent more than 15 minutes trying to get the waitresses' attention so they'd take our order. They passed us several times, but it seemed we were invisible, and they ignored us. Finally, she gave us a reluctant, disgusted gesture, meaning she'd be right back and that we should wait. She passed us again about four times, and nothing; we were still invisible. Obviously, we got up and left.

We can't say anything about the food since we haven't tried it. But the waitresses' service leaves a lot to be desired. It's understandable that it's Saturday and a time when they don't like to work, but you can't have customers who are so...
