Read moreI recently visited Brussels and Frites Atelier was recommended. If you love chips/fries, then you will absolutely love this place. Personally, this is hands down the BEST fries I've ever had. I can see why this place is so popular in Brussels. I went with a group of friends on a weekend and, as expected, there was a queue. We waited approximately 20-30 minutes in the queue. Ordering food was quick and they can speak English if you can't speak French. The menu was unique with interesting flavours/toppings. I opted for their limited edition Japanese inspired "yakitori" chicken with fries, which was €12.75 and still mineral water was €3. It had wasabi mayonnaise sauce, pickled mix of cucumber, gherkins and ginger, roasted sesame seeds, and spring onions on top. The fries were so crispy, flavourful, and absolutely delicious! The yakitori flavour was nice. However, the wasabi mayonnaise was strong - be warned! I waited for around 10-15 minutes (considering they were super busy). Whilst some of us were waiting for our orders, one of my friends was looking for a free table. It is first come, first served, and seating was limited. The round tables could've been bigger as we ordered drinks too, but for a group of 5, it was fine. Overall, it was worth the wait queuing up, good service, and friendly staff. I would highly recommend visiting if you are...
Read moreWhen you have tons of options for famous Belgian fries, how do you choose where to go? In an effort to find best fries...Things to know about all Belgian frites: they all are tasteless without a sauce, they all charge extra for a sauce, they all have lines.
That being said, this was my third and easily my second favorite. Why? The sauces. The variety. I say how the fries are bland without a sauce? These sauces are great. I don't know if you can get it separate but the parmesan and basil fries are amazing. The basil sauce is delightful. This is a central location that has seating (most do not), they don't have different sizes, they are the most expensive for the regular fries until you realize theirs comes with choices of TWO sauces included in the price (not extra) €6 for regulars and €8+ for specialties including Parm basil. The fries aren't greasy. Easily the longest wait of places I've tried though....
