Ćevabdžinica Bosna (SPORT) — Restaurant in City of Sarajevo

NOT RECOMMENDED for tourists who don’t speak the local language :(

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Our group of six was treated extremely poorly simply because we spoke English instead of the local language.

The female waitress wearing a red headband was cold and impatient from the moment we arrived. When taking our order, she seemed annoyed, even though we were polite and clear. We ordered a Mix Meat Plate for six people, two additional meat dishes, one salad, and five drinks. However, she didn’t write down the main Mix Meat Plate at all, only the two smaller dishes and the salad were served. She also brought just two drinks and completely forgot the other three.

Even worse, when we kindly asked for six sets of tableware, she turned to another staff member and insulted us in the local language, saying something like “They only ordered this little food but want six plates.” One of our friends speaks the local language and understood everything. It was shocking and rude beyond belief.

We later had to reorder the main dish and missing drinks with a different (and thankfully polite) male waiter.

We’ve been in Sarajevo for two days and found most locals kind and welcoming, but this was the one exception. Such behavior gives a terrible impression to visitors and really ruined what should have been a...

This is the worst place I’ve ever had food at as a tourist. I went there recently with my mother to try ćevapi, although their food is okay not that great. What struck me was the attitude of the owner. We ordered 2 ćevapis and fries, the fries came cold. My mom went inside to explain to them so that they could serve us a hot one. I suddenly see the owner getting angry and waving his hand rudely at my mother. When I go inside and I speak with him he says “ I will not serve you new fries, go outside”. He throws the bowl in front of us. As we walk outside to pick our bags to leave, he pulls my mother by the arm and shouts. This is when I loudly speak to him and ask him to back off. I said that we will not pay for food we did not even eat and certainly not in a restaurant where people treat us like this. We leave and go somewhere else.

Unfortunately, this is one of those places that can ruin your day. My girlfriend and o went there for lunch, having seen the place several times while walking around the area. Sadly all the negatives reviews I’m readying now turned out to be true. While the food was good, the way the waitress treated us ruined the whole experience, and took some personal effort to not let it ruin our day. We order from the menu and, apparently, we got served something “extra” and the waitress wanted to charge us more, for something we didn’t ask, and didn’t even know it was an extra (a small frozen yogurt ball on top of the meat). I just can’t emphasize enough how badly we were treated, and I highly recommend anyone reading this to find somewhere else to eat, the city has lots of other places with really kind people, so you’ll be better off...
