I visited Espeto after going to the night market because they were one of the places that were recommended online and they stayed open late. Our server Chagas was friendly and helpful when questions were asked about the menu items. He was also very understanding when I didn't like the Strawberry flavored Caipirinha I ordered. We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer. It was warm, light and buttery. My sister ordered Feljoada C/arroz laranja, farofa, crocante e couve (if you like beans this is the dish for you). The dish was served with a side of rice and oranges to cut the heaviness of the meal. I order the Filet Migon which came with cheesy rice, buttery potatoes and broccolini. The meat was cook exactly how I asked (more well done) and the potatoes were delicious. The cheesy rice needed to be warmer but it was good also. The Caipirinhas we ordered were delicious. We got the lime of course and the passion fruit. The only thing I didn't like about the passion fruit was the seeds that were in it. I would definitely...
Read moreI'll start with the positives: 1) Feijoada was good (mostly the texture, the flavor wasn't as complex/rich). 2) Good hours (open late till 1am). Here are the negatives: 2) Horrible steaks. The picanha was hands down the worst that ive had in Brazil. It was tough, flavorless and a waste of calories. Even after adding salt it just tasted like salt. I should have known after being told that the picanha would be cooked "tableside". If you know good churrasco, then you'd know Picanha should NOT be cooked on a tiny griddle. As a matter of fact NO STEAK SHOULD be. Outrageous prices. I paid more for my basic meal here (picanha + feijoada + rice and fries with no drink) than i did at Terra Brasillis (Rice + feijoada+ Larger serving of Picanha + 2 sides of chocolate brownie + 2 Passionfruit drinks + an amazing view of mountains and beaches). And then the guy was funny with the final bill price. It changed 3 times as he did his weird calculations on his calculator. This place is a 100% tourist trap...
Read moreCan’t understand the other reviews as this food being good. Food was reheated in microwave seen with my own eyes. Ordered appetizers and one was still frozen in the middle sent back and in front of me put it back in microwave. Ordered grilled cheese with honey also put in microwave. Cheese was tasty.
Ordered garlic bread and it was still cold in middle, sent back and also microwaved. Ordered Filet with cheese it was also cold sent it back, took it in the back when they noticed I was looking and when it came back filets were hot but stick was cold so that tells you it was not put on grill but microwaved yet again.
Pilsner beer not cold tasted like a cheap Budweiser. I gave it a 1 star for the effort of the server when not on his phone.
All and all not good at all. The restaurant next to us Miguel was full of locals guess they were right to go there. Every staff member was too busy on...
