Tommy's Neighbourhood Pub — Restaurant in Banff

When we tried to put in our order tonight (table of 5) for food the waitress took down one couples order then physically tried to take the menu from my hands along with the 2 other people. I was confused and said we still needed to order. She then made a comment about how she thought all that food was for everyone as they ordered a lot of food and that we were greedy. (They only got nachos and a platter) when my friend asked if they had any olives or celery when she got her ceaser (only had a lime) was told if they had it it would probably be in the drink already.

I got the steak sandwich with a ceaser salad and the salad looked good but when I tried to eat it my mouth started to burn due to the amount of garlic that was in it. I personally love garlic but it tasted like I was eatting a whole uncooked clove. They did offer to exchange the side but I declined as the sides my friends had didn't taste great either and didn't want to waste food I wouldn't eat anyways.

The rest of the food that came out was really disappointing especially the grey gravey that stayed in its bowl like a dq blizzard when you flipped it.

I always tip especially if the service and food isn't always good because people do have off days but I've never been treated like that anywhere I've eaten before and it was really disrespectful.

I will not eat or even drink here again. I don't recommend anyone trying this...

ATTENTION TO POC : please save your hard earned money, patience and dignity by not going to this “establishment”. I am disgusted by the customer service and work ethic of the owner and bar tender here. If this is what Banff town is all about, please take a note from inclusive cities like Toronto or Edmonton. The lack of customer service was disappointing as my friend and I, (the only people of color there) had ordered takeout, not offered any welcome, wait staff was inattentive and everything seemed disorganized. Waited a long time for takeout and we had to practically beg for our bills and the bartender kept a messing up our order and payment. When I received my order it was soggy bread and dry chicken and my appetite was ruined. I politely asked if I could get an alternative dish, and was rudely informed that it was not possible. The manager and the bartender then proceeded to Ridicule me. I was so disappointed in this customer service and the lack of human compassion. The manager had taken the food back and threw it on the counter and went to get the money and slammed it on the counter and called us fools for not understanding the process of a restaurant. His worker had also decided to join in and belittle us when we did nothing but politely ask for a return. This experience has truly tarnished my view of greater inclusivity and I hope that no one must go through...

Holy ..get there and grab yourself a steak sandwich.. side of onion rings.. So good.. it was peppered ( and I hate pepper) but it was spiced perfectly that is was not a hot pepper. You could taste the sear on it. And I eat a lot of steak sandwiches.. This pub is NOW my favorite place to eat in Banff'. And that says a lot ..replacing the tried and true faithfuls..

Look low, or you will walk past this gem.. it is located in the bottom stair well on main street.. it is down a few steps . And has tight wooden church pew like booths ..Tables if you need pull out chairs . and stools. For those just popping in..
