I found a hair in my salad at the bottom of the plate. I notified my waitress, she left and came back with attitude saying that unfortunately she can't do anything about it. My friends wern't finished eating, we were in the middle of watching a fight we paid to watch and she came with the machine to collect the money. My friend said something in Spanish to the waitress, and she replied that I always create trouble when I come there. I was going to pay for my food but after hearing that I was angered. I am finding hair in my food, no apologies, and the level of rudness was aweful. I told her that she is the one creating trouble by her rudness, I didn't even get an an apology and I added that I will pay for my drink but not the food because it had a hair in it. She said that I will need to leave after paying, we all had purchased tickets to watch the fight so I told her that she will need to refund me for my ticket, she said that I already watched the fight, my friend said that the fight wasn't finished, so than she said to leave after the fight. Later the owner took my friend over to talk to her in the back room about how she should be teaming up with the restaurant because they are Mexican like her not me, the owner was also begging her not to post the picture of the hair on the internet. While the owner was talking to my friend the fight that she paid for was playing, and my friend had to tell her that she came here to watch the fight. The experience was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I rarely go there because the food is bad, I went because my friend wanted to see the boxing match. Last time I went there it was past supper time and I wanted to order a drink, I was told that I need to order food if I drink so I ordered Churros, I was told that it needs to be a meal, they had an event menu and there was nothing vegetarian on the menu, so I told them that I don't eat meat which I don't. They said that they can come up with something. If this is the trouble they are talking about I was causing then they don't know what trouble is. What they came out with is 2 small dry tortilla with barly any vegtables on them and absolutely no cheese, after I said that I like lots of cheese. I could have created trouble by saying something but I didn't I was there with my friends. They charged me $20 for those dry tortillas and I still said nothing. Anyways service is rude, it's not vegetarian friendly, even the meat is bad; my friends' meat was dry and tough they said and it looked so to me. It's overpriced and it's dirty, there was...
Read moreHad brunch there today at around 11. It was relatively busy, but still some empty tables. Food was good, we had Huevos Rancheros and El Dominguero. FOOD: Food was very tasty, not bland at all, so I am assuming that they must have listened to all of the reviews that they're getting. Food tasted fresh and you can tell it wasn't some pre-made pre packed meals pulled out of the freezer and reheated. I'd go back there again for Food.
SERVICE: Service was SLOW. The server was friendly but their service needs a LOT of improvement. Waiting for food for a Long time because it's made fresh per serving is great, and we appreciated that. But the whole time we were waiting, we sat there with empty coffee mugs and water glasses waiting for her to ask if we wanted a refill. She moved fast and all, but once she's out of the dining area, she won't be back in a while. She was in such a hurry the whole time we were there, she was literally speed walking. I think they need some sort of tray or something because she was running back and forth with individual servings of food coming out of the kitchen. We felt like we had to say things twice as fast, before she runs away. Took a while to get coffee and water, and unfortunately we had to ask for refills twice and had to get her attention, instead of the server asking if we wanted more coffee / water while waiting for our food. Actually almost felt like we're being ignored, I can't imagine how it would be like if the place was packed.
Overall, I would give this place another try. But if service is pretty much the same as today. I won't...
Read moreA trip to Mexico đČđœ
Many restaurants have come and gone in Kelowna over the years. Some are good and some are just plain bad. I had been skeptical of this new Mexican restaurant due to the word of mouth reviews and comments I had read and heard nonetheless my wife and I decided to give TAMM a try.
Upon arival my first impressions where a bit dashed as we where greeted with a run down exterior of a building and dirty dining tables left to their demise. Granted it's spring and everything is dirty but dining tables that you can write your opinions on is not a good sign of the cleanliness and standards we expect.
For those who expect a modern, hoity-toity experience move along you won't find that here. You want a Mexican home style meal created by those who came from the mother land? This is it.
Remember every restaurant has their take on recipes but granted you expect some familiarity.
We where greated buy a very energetic and polite waitresses that seated us and brought us tortilla chips and a dip (Not sure what the dip was).
My wife had the Enchiladas and I had the El Domingureo. Both meals came in acceptable time and was hot. The presentation was quite good. The flavours where good. I did find mine to be a bit salty. Everything tasted fresh and nothing was over powering.
Clearly they have cooks who taste what they are cooking and are passionate for their art.
With any restaurant there is always room to improve and while I'm not the final say I will say "you should try TAMM yourself".
Keep up the good work TAMM! Keep...
