The coffee was tasteless, the staff were unfriendly and the manager is dishonest. I ordered an extra hot latte but it was delivered luke warm.
When I politely complained, the girl who served me replied, “I just watched him make it and it is extra hot.” This was untrue. I always order my coffee’s extra hot and knew that it was nowhere near this temperature. The staff remade the coffee but it lacked flavour and was very bland.
Further to this, the manager of the store has since sent me an email asking me to remove the review. Rather than admitting the mistake and offering me an apology, she has chosen to make petty remarks about my use of language, defend her staff and has asked me to remove the review. The review will not be removed. Maybe she needs to think about the manner in which she treats her customers in future.
We are all human and sometimes we all get it wrong. It’s not an issue that a mistake was made. The issue is the self-righteousness and arrogance of the manager and her staff. All they needed to do was to admit their mistake and remake the coffee but they chose to put all of the blame on the customer. When the coffee was delivered, I actually apologised to the staff for the inconvenience of having to re-make my coffee even though I knew they had made a mistake. Despite this, the girl serving chose to offer no apology but instead to speak untruths and imply that they were right and I was wrong.
Both the staff and the manager of the coffee shop need to learn some basic manners and customer service training and need to be taught how to speak to their customers with common courteousy and respect.

Read moreWorst customer service ever. From the very beginning of my interaction with the barrister taking my order, she was cold, short and disrespectful to me. Then after she rung my order and I was walking away from the counter, she called out to me rudely and accused me of not telling her if I wanted syrup in my tea. It was her abrasive, snarky tone and condescending attitude that completely caught me off guard. She also accused me of “always wanting vanilla and not telling her this time what I wanted”. This was my very first time in Jasper and visiting Andromeda coffee so I had no clue what she was taking about. I noticed that she treated the very next man, who was not a person of color, with a respectful, upbeat and joyful attitude. I have worked in retail in the past so I know the difference between awful, disrespectful customer service and good customer service. I also noticed that she intentionally prepared my tea after that caucasian man who ordered AFTER me. I asked my partner if I was somehow exaggerating her behavior in my mind, as one would often question one's own feelings and perception in the face of such an attack, and he said he felt the exact same thing. We were both so caught off guard by her rudeness and condescending attitude. I would never come back to this place nor would I recommend anyone else to. I have many friends from Canada and the U.S. who vacation in Jasper and I will make sure to tell all of them about how Andromeda...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this café because of the rude and disrespectful attitude of one of the waitresses. I simply asked to use the restroom — as a paying customer — and was spoken to in a condescending and arrogant tone, as if I wasn’t welcome.
While I understand that access to restrooms might be monitored, there’s a respectful way to communicate with customers, and this was definitely not it.
What’s unfortunate is that the rest of the experience was actually quite good: the coffee is excellent, the pastries are delicious, and the rest of the staff seemed friendly and welcoming.
It’s a real shame that one person’s behavior can damage the image of the entire establishment. I won’t be returning, but I hope management takes this seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with the respect...
