Your visit to Niagara is incomplete without a visit to Maharaja Grand! The ambiance, scrumptious dishes and real value for money has gives this restaurant a full five stars. This is truly five star dining and a place you want to take family, friends and colleagues. I have been to Maharaja Grand a few times and am slowly getting through the entire menu. The food has always exceeded my expectations and here's why:
Ambiance The restaurant has opened a few months ago and the Owner has set the bar very high. Not only is the decor classy, but the restaurant is immaculate, with tasteful music and lighting. Dining here is an experience and the service is warm and congenial.
Starters All appetizers are hot and fresh, portioned nicely and great for sharing. Of the three vegetarian starters, the paneer pakoras are my favorite and are presented really nicely. Enjoy!
Main Courses Where to start.... Only the best of chefs know how to cook Malai Kofta, Daal Tadka (Yellow Daal) and Bhindi Masala well (my favorites). Maharaja Grand has nailed it. All the dishes are scrumptious and truly tantalize the palate. All dishes can be customized to be mild or spicy, but the standard spice levels on these dishes are perfect. There is also good value for money in ordering these main courses. Sometimes we stick to dishes we know, but here you will enjoy all the main courses you try.
The Chef's Tandoor This is the biggest problem I have with this restaurant. All three tikkas are so different and SO GOOD, that I cannot choose. You really will enjoy all of them and this is definitely a must have (Paneer, Mushroom and Gobhi Tikkas).
Accompaniments From the raita, to the rice and biryani dishes - all will compliment your main courses. I particularly recommend the raita-yogurt as it is rich and creamy. I always order it.
Desserts I am so glad that all the desserts here are cooked in house and absolutely fresh. At other restaurants I've tastes so many prepackaged and frozen desserts... After a hearty meal, you may lean on not ordering any dessert - but don't make that mistake! The Ras Malai is a must have! It is creamy, perfectly sweet and topped with sliced almonds. You can thank me later. :)
All the dishes I have recommended are vegetarian, but I know that whatever you order here - will be of the highest quality and the freshest of ingredients. I am very particular (and naturally a little bit tougher with my reviews) and so this review is a testament to the exquisite dining experiences I have had and continue to have at Maharaja Grand.

Read moreDuring our journey through Canada, my husband and I, typically residents of Denmark, embarked on a culinary adventure. Our search for a taste of local cuisine led us to a restaurant that promised a unique dining experience. We ordered the papadichaat and Kabakpqari with naan.
Our journey began with the papadichaat, a starter that turned out to be a perplexing contrast of flavors. It was incredibly sour, to the point where it was nearly impossible to enjoy. It felt as though the chef had squeezed a whole lemon into this small dish, overpowering all other elements. The lack of balance was a disappointment, but it didn't deter us from continuing our exploration.
The Kabakqari, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations either. The kebabs seemed to lack the freshness we had hoped for, with a texture that suggested they might have been frozen. They were accompanied by a bland tomato sauce that did little to enhance their overall flavor. We longed for a more satisfying and authentic experience, something that was regrettably missing.
To our dismay, our dining experience took an unexpected turn when it came time to settle the bill. The server automatically added a 15% gratuity without seeking our consent. As if that weren't enough, an additional 3% service charge was tacked on, making the final bill much higher than we had anticipated. It was an unwelcome surprise, especially when it resulted in a cost equivalent to an...
Read moreI never criticise a restaurant unless i feel there is a need. I came here after looking at the atmosphere of the restaurant on the Internet. I ordered pani puri/ gol gappa. Worst gol gappa ever. Then we ordered panner tikka masala gravy and dal makhni and garlic naan for main course. The paneer was so sour that i just took a few bite and left it. Dal makhni was bland no spice no good taste at all . Garlic naan was dry and soggy and wet in the middle. Seems like it was a microwaved naan, so dry! After I told the server/ the only person in the restaurant, that the food is not good at all she didn’t even apologize or felt sorry about how we felt about the food. There was zero consideration to the feeling of what the customer felt rather she started offering us to bring new plate of naan, but the curries were so disgusting. I left the food and me and my wife ate just one naan and they charged me For the whole meal. The worst part is the server/ only person in the restaurant never apologized or felt sorry, Like i was lying. I am a punjabi and ate at several indian restaurants. I know what indian/punjabi food tastes like. Pls dnt come here!!! Worst experience ever.!!! This is not fine dining restaurant. I wasted my first marriage anniversary dinner here. Had to leave the meal in between and go at a different restaurant. Worst restaurant ever! Very expensive as per the taste and subzero...
