The Good: the location is extremely convenient for a trip to the Clifton Hill area of Niagara Falls - at the 'top end' of the hill, and just a couple minutes walk to the Skywheel. Decent view if you are in a room on the street side of the hotel in the 'tower'. An okay place to stay if you are really just looking for a place to crash for a night after exploring the Falls for a day/evening, and are not too caught up in needing 'hotel amenities', or 'atmosphere', or 'service'.
The Negative: I reserved two rooms - a 2-queen balcony room, and a 'family room' with 2 queens and a sofa bed. The balcony room was available for us when we arrived for checkin 4:45pm on a Thursday afternoon. Our family room was not. As we approached the check in desk, there was already a family of 5 with three small children, waiting on their room who had been waiting from 4pm. I was calm and understood that they were behind in getting rooms ready for check in (cleaning still) but did ask to be checked into the family room as well and provided with keys and our room number - the staff refused to do this and insisted that they could not advise of the room number or issue keys 'yet'. They told me that they would have the room ready in perhaps another 30-45 minutes.
Our entire family (myself, husband, and three children 18/13/13) took our luggage to the balcony room to freshen up after our 3 hour drive to the falls, and to wait on the family room to move over the kids' luggage. We returned to the lobby at about 615pm and again after waiting 15 minutes and watching two more groups of folks be told their rooms were not ready, was again told that our family room was not still not ready, and that I could not have the room number or keys, and that I could wait another 15-30 minutes to get the room (no guarantee), or just go out to the attractions and pickup the keys at the front desk upon our return that night. I was not particularly comfortable with this response, and was skeptical we would ever get the 'family room' at all given the reticence toward even confirming the room number for us nearly three hours past check in time and the obvious number of other guests that were having the same apparent issue, but was also not willing to waste more of our family time that should be spent on Clifton Hill, waiting in the lobby.
I called the hotel at 9pm to see if our keys were at the front desk for us and was told they had 'just received' them (glad we didn't wait around, doubly glad we had a 2nd room, or we'd have been royally screwed), and we were able to get the keys when we were done at about 1am. We moved the kids stuff to the family room and tried to help get them settled - the sofa bed was truly pathetic and there was no bedding for it at all - we had to pull some of the blankets and a pillow off the other two beds to use it. Back at the balcony room when i pulled back the comforter, there was a truly nasty and obvious ACTUAL sh*t stain on the bed sheet! Thankfully the the 2nd bed seemed 'clean' although at this point I was obviously demonstrably convinced the bedding had not been changed after the last people before us because no room service personnel would have ever been able to miss that super nasty and obvious 'stain'. Perhaps this is the reason that the balcony room was 'ready' when we arrived -it just was not cleaned at all! At approaching nearly 2am by then, I was just too tired to even call the desk about it.
Overall, a pretty...
Read moream writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding the unacceptable experience my family and I encountered during our recent stay at falls inn hotel on the night of the 18th to the 19th of february. Upon our arrival at 6:30 PM for check-in, we immediately encountered several distressing issues that made our stay impossible. Despite our anticipation of a relaxing vacation, we were met with a series of major problems that severely compromised our comfort and safety: Inadequate Room Conditions: The room we were provided with had multiple critical issues, including malfunctioning heating and television. The inability to regulate the room temperature left my family, including my two-year-old daughter, exposed to freezing conditions, which is completely unacceptable, especially during the winter months. Lack of Essential Amenities: Despite requesting a crib for my daughter multiple times prior to our arrival, one was not provided upon check-in., and asking after we came to the toom. This forced us to endure the inconvenience of carrying the stroller up and down the stairs repeatedly, exacerbating the already stressful situation. Poor Customer Service Response: Despite promptly notifying the front desk staff of our concerns, the response we received was unsatisfactory. We were assured that assistance would be provided, but after waiting for over two hours which i kept coming to the front desk to get updates with no resolution, we were left feeling ignored and abandoned. Unacceptable Delays and Disregard: The lack of urgency and empathy displayed by the staff in addressing our grievances was deeply troubling. Waiting for hours in freezing conditions with no viable solution offered is simply unacceptable and reflects poorly on the professionalism and competence of your establishment. Due to the severity of these issues and the complete failure of your hotel to provide suitable accommodations, my family and I were left with no choice but to seek alternative lodging elsewhere. It is deeply disappointing that we were forced to endure such an ordeal during what was supposed to be a...
Read moreThe rooms are sad. It really feels like an abandoned motel that someone has bought and is running it into the ground. I used to stay here when it was a days Inn and I really liked the place. Much of the furniture is outright broken. There are holes in the walls. Many of the outlets don't work. Some of the buildings Life safety equipment does not function. The rooms smells so bad. I rented two rooms for a vacation with my young girls and my mother and one of the room smells so badly like BO and Indian food that we couldn't go in it. The sheets are dirty. The pillows are stained yellow in the sheets have the straps broken so they don't stay on the mattresses. Two of the chairs in my room are broken. The doors to the shared balcony are padlocked. The restaurant also looks like it had been abandoned and is being run into the ground. The pictures that the motel supplies are clearly of when it was a days inn. It does not look like that anymore.
The good things are that some of the staff are friendly, even if it's clear that management doesn't care about the place. The air conditioning in the rooms work well. The location is very nice in relation to Clifton Hill.
The rooms smell so bad. I really can't get over that and the dirty beds and pillows. One of the pillows has blood on it and one of the towels does as well. There are no large towels.
The Jets for the in room hot tub no longer work. The faucet also doesn't work correctly. There are holes in the walls and bad patch jobs where some have been covered up. The TV is very small.
I am really surprised that someone would come into one of these rooms, purports to clean it, and leave it thinking that was satisfactory. It's pretty rough. The walls are dirty. I couldn't wait to leave and go home. Thank goodness it was only two nights. I won't stay here again. Sad news for a great property had a great location. Seriously though. Abandoned is the best word that I have for it. It looks like an abandoned motel after some sort of Apocalypse that is being run into the ground and new items are not available to replace all the broken ones. It's wild....
