Our recent visit to The WORKS Craft Burgers & Beer left us with mixed feelings. While the restaurant's ambiance was lively and bustling, particularly given its proximity to the Clifton Hill strip, the culinary experience did not quite match up to our expectations. The burgers, though presented with enticing photography within the restaurant, unfortunately fell short in reality. This disparity made us feel that the brand's promise wasn't fully met.
While the novelty of drinking from mixing cups was a hit with the kids, adding a playful touch to our meal, it also seemed to underscore the chain-like, somewhat uninspired nature of the dining experience. In terms of food quality, we found it to be average at best, which was surprising and disappointing for a place that specializes in burgers. It led us to question the expertise and attention to detail in the kitchen.
On a brighter note, the service was commendable. The staff at the front of the house were attentive and efficient, managing the high volume of customers with ease and maintaining a pleasant atmosphere. Their ability to swiftly turn tables in such a busy location was impressive and undoubtedly contributed to a successful business day for them.
In summary, while the service was a high point, the overall dining experience, particularly the key aspect of food quality, did not live up to our expectations for a specialized burger bar.

Read moreFor a restaurant that specializes in craft burgers, I was expecting a bit more. I ordered the three-ring binder. From looking at the menu, I felt that I was in for a tremendously delicious experience. However, it fell a bit short on the execution. First of all, the brioche bun was not toasted. It felt like it was hit with a hair dryer and dried out a little bit, but it wasn't grilled or toasted. Total fail. A little bit of butter and a quick toast on the flat top would have been a pleasant addition. A little bit of the Chipotle mayo on the bun would have been a benefit. The sauteed mushrooms felt like they've been around for a while. I'm not expecting sauteed mushrooms to be cooked to order. Perhaps they just need to work on how they hold the sauteed mushrooms for use on a cheeseburger. The Chipotle Mayo didn't have any flavor at all. On the menu it indicated that it was spicy. But, this was not the case. I'm not a fan of super spicy food, but this didn't bring any heat to the table. The hamburger was nice and thick and meaty, but it lacked the beefy flavor that I would expect from a steakhouse style burger patty. A little more salt would have added a lot of dimension to the burger patty. Also, the three ring binder cheeseburger was cold when it arrived...

Extremely disappointed. Everything was the opposite what I've experienced last year. I had a burger with no sides and a chocolate milkshake and my bill was $43.
The chocolate milkshake was okay, but the burger was TERRIBLE! I asked the waiter what was the cheesy burger available and he recommended this 3 cheese burger that was a "fancy" cheese burger with a onion ring on top. The bun was dry and not fresh, the patty was way over cooked and flavorless, and the cheese was also flavorless. In resume, the worst and most expensive meal I had in a long time. They definately increase the burger price by $7/$8. This terrible burger alone was $24 without any sides.
Original review: The best Poutine I had in 2024. The burgers were fantastic. I highly recommend eating here. On top, the price is fair, but the best is the service.
I want to give a shout to Levi. Best service I had in the last 5 years. He recommend the food, spoke with me in code so my son could not understand that we were ordering "solidified cold dairy products" which most people know as Ice Cream. Hehehe. Thanks so much! Highly recommended!!!
I've almost forgot: the milkshake was also great and very well serviced. Food...
