Went on a nice little overnight trip to Niagara with my family, upon entering the lobby we were welcomed by a employee who looked very very upset to see us and it wasn’t as welcoming as expected. In pictures of the hotel I saw a sign that said “FREE BREAKFAST” and I was disappointed with a $3 coupon per person to a very expensive restaurant with terrible options and horrible looking food. We had 2 rooms and one of the room keys just wouldn’t work no matter what, so I went down to get it fixed and the unhappy employee fixed it with a frown, it worked just one time until it stopped again, so yet again I went down and I was welcomed by a very nice lady (I wish I could remember her name) who delightfully fixed it and let me know to keep the key away from any phones as it would demagnetize it, the other employee could’ve told me that the first time but decided not to I guess, and this key issue never came up with any other hotels I’ve stayed at so it was a surprise but could’ve been avoided the first time I came down. Once we got into the room, we were welcomed by flickering lights and ugly bedding, the tv looked new but the video quality looked like it was from the 1950s due to the fact that all the channels were very static. The tables had weird stains on them and the bathroom had no heating. At night time I noticed blood on one of the pillows and a few hairs in the bed, I was hoping that they were mine but unfortunately the hair colour didn’t match length or colour and I was sure I wasn’t bleeding. In the morning I found out that our other room had bed bugs and my family was busy purging those little miscreants whenever they found any, I however didn’t notice any in my room. Anyhow I’m not much of a Karen so I didn’t complain about any of my other issues due to the fact that I was paying a really cheap price for this hotel so I couldn’t expect perfection of course. This hotel would receive a 1 star from me but it receives 2 mainly due to the only upside of this hotel, which is of course the location of the hotel. You have to just cross the street to get to the Ferris wheel and racetrack and only a 5 minute walk to the smaller side of the falls and a 15 minute walk to the main falls, and you can go into the city really easily without having to drive. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re trying to spend a night here but I guess it could be okay if it was slightly cheaper? Again, location was nice but the room was not it at all. Oh and by the way, that unhappy employee seemed like a manger to me, but I guess I’ll never know for sure since I will not be returning...

So upon arriving and being told we have a premium upgrade and that our two queen beds room with balcony is legit over Clifton Hill / Lundys Lane we forgot all about the headache trying to book the room for almost an hour prior, our room was immaculate and new as we were told we were the first guests to stay in the new premium rooms. All the action and fun noise people everywhere was a very cool feeling to be part of off your hotel balcony. The kids were jumping in the play thing that’s adjacent to the hotel and right there in your view from the balcony aswell. The casino tower is to the left a short walk away and our neighbours went there we did the hill and all the amenities ending at the slywheel. For close around 2 am. The city is full of lights and brightness. People chattering up and down and everyone happy. We fell asleep around 3 am and had security bang at the door waking all 3 of us up before realizing he was at the wrong door . Going to sleep again after that was quite difficult espleaving the next door: however security was only there because someone beside us complained and thought noise was coming from next door meanwhile it was clearly coming from upstairs. I would hope anyone who wants a quiet night sleep would choose not to stay here and please don’t for that matter. People are having light hearted fun and others are exhasuthey can sleep through minor laughs and carrying on in a friendly matter calling security to complain you can’t sleep and now waking up others because you have an issue that’s totally not fair also no means of the hotel doing wrong, so please wear yourself out having the best time ever walking everywhere enjoying everything and be tired when to go to your room here or stay up and enjoy the atmosphere just don’t complain. 11/10 can’t wait to return. Safe hotel and the maintenance cleaners work Mon stop keeping the place clear and tidy, it was sad to see no one picked up after them selves. There’s no way I’m leaving a mess for him to clean. It’s my living space for the night there’s garbages everywhere . Tip the guys 5 bucks at least they deserve it.

Read moreRecently I decided to take a little staycation to Niagara Falls with my sisters, we unfortunately decided to save a few bucks and stay at the Travelodge on Clifton Hill. At first glance when we entered the room it was decent for the price we paid and honestly the view was pretty nice (the only nice thing about the place). After settling in we realized we should've just paid the extra money for a better hotel. My sister went to sit on the bed and to her surprise she touched a crusty white stain...you can imagine what that was, and to top it off when we asked for another blanket and explaining why the unprofessional maid the following day insinuated that we were wrong and lying as she continued to repeat that she checked the room multiple times and made sure it was clean. Moving forward our stay just got worse. The beds were made out of cardboard and when we checked in we had received 1 out of the 2 cots we were promised for free (ended up getting charged $20) , then later that night we called for the other cot and I guess the front desk people had switched shifts because when we called we were told that due to covid we were not allowed any cots as its "hotel policy", he didn't have much to say when I told him that we actually already were given one so he just didn't wanna do his job. Two cousins came the second day to visit and we had to be locked up in the "non-smoking room" that smelt like stale cheap cigarettes and 2 of the brown blankets we were given in return for the c*m stained ones had multiple cigarette burns in them. We had to hide in our rooms all day because they kept calling us harassing us, showing up to our door to figure out how many people were there (it was 1 more than capacity and we were basically the only guests), they ended up calling security to inform us they had to leave by 9pm, so I just paid for them to stay the night so that they could stay longer. Didn't realize we were in a college dorm with rules and restrictions. For a run down motel in need for many updates and improvements, they were unnecessarily rude and strict for nothing. Almost all the staff we had encountered throughout our stay were not only rude and unwelcoming but also none of them were wearing masks. If it wasn't for the view and our balcony we would've left the second we got there. Our room is one out of few with a decent view of the strip. You get what you expect when you...
