DO NOT STAY HERE. 1. BLOOD STAINED MATTRESS(see pictures). The hotel mattresses need FUMIGATION. They are the most rancid things I have ever seen, completely used and abused stained with every bodily fluid imaginable. Mine had lovely blood stains on mattress that matched the blood stains on carpet. The mattresses are probably older than most of the guests and should have been thrown out 10+ years ago, painful springs, lumpy , and very uncomfortable. In addition to stains all over the carpet, the wall paper is peeling off the walls. Dust everywhere. TV is old and most of the TV channels are fuzzy. Bathroom floor sticky. Basically everything is falling apart, broken, or dirty. You definitely DO NOT want to be walking anywhere in your room barefooted, and you might want to sleep in a hazmat suit. A few extra notes. When we arrived the man at the front desk told us our room wasnt ready, thats understandable because we arrived esrly due to the train schedule, but he didn't know our name, how would he know? Okay, no problem, we left our bags, and explored. Called in a few hours and asked if our room was ready yet, he said no. Again, I didn't give my name, so i questioned him, he said he recognized my voice???? I asked if he could please check the computer because its been a long day, he finally asked for my name and said no it wasnt ready until 4pm. Fine, I understand rooms not being ready until check in, but it truly felt as though he didn't care and put ZERO effort into checking, and that part bothered me. When we returned to check in later on the miserable guy was gone, thankfully, and it was a lovely and friendly lady. The location was convenient, you can walk to everything, between 5 mins to 30mins from end to end of tourist area. Breakfast was satisfying, it did the trick. Room AC works. Moldy caulking in bathroom. It's obvious that the owner does not care, its strictly for profit and they have not reinvested a dime since the 90's. Shame on the owner. I'd avoid this place like the plague. Im serious, please, spend a bit more, its an investment in better family memories and personal hygiene to stay elsewhere.

Our experience at Clifton Victoria Inn was disappointing, and there were multiple areas that could benefit from serious improvements. The hotel feels very outdated, and it’s clear that it hasn’t been renovated in quite some time. The carpets, in particular, had an unpleasant, stale odor that was strong enough to be noticeable throughout our stay, creating an unappealing environment from the moment we entered. Additionally, there was a pervasive chlorine smell that filled the hallways, which didn’t help with the overall ambiance. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the advertised access to the nearby waterpark. We were told that a reservation wasn’t required, so we assumed we’d be able to enjoy the waterpark freely as part of our stay. However, when we arrived, we discovered that this wasn’t actually the case. The lack of access felt misleading and was a big letdown, as we’d planned our trip around this feature. The breakfast didn’t meet our expectations either. The quality was questionable, and unfortunately, it even upset my stomach afterward. As for the room, the bathrooms were particularly disappointing, with a stale smell and a visible need for maintenance. They were outdated and clearly in need of deep cleaning and updating, which would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience. On top of this, the security deposit took an incredibly long time to be refunded—about a month and a half after our stay, which was both surprising and inconvenient. While the staff were generally okay and did their best, they weren’t able to make up for the hotel’s lack of upkeep. Given all these factors, I wouldn’t recommend staying at Clifton Victoria Inn unless significant updates and better communication about amenities are made.

This hotel is rundown and dishonest. I do not recommend it. Rating: 2.0 / 10 The only thing we truly liked was the location — it’s convenient, close to major attractions and within walking distance to the Falls. But unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Our stay was a terrible experience — we were misled, overcharged, and ignored. 1. Overcharging and deception The final price shown on Booking.com was $589 + $129 taxes = $718. However, at check-in, we were charged $846.39. The front desk mentioned a "municipal tax" that was not included in the booking and wrongly calculated 6 nights instead of 5. When we asked to pay through Booking, they refused and insisted we pay directly, charging the full amount upfront to our card. We were tired from travel and didn’t have the strength to argue. At checkout, we were told $100 was a deposit — again, this was never mentioned beforehand. But even after deducting the deposit, we were still overcharged by $28.39. This is not a mistake — it's a pattern of dishonest practice. 2. Room 303 was in awful condition Strong unpleasant smell Old, uncomfortable furniture The mattresses were horrible — our backs hurt every morning The window doesn’t open, the AC is loud and uncontrollable — hard to breathe Dusty surfaces, stained carpet, and bed linen was put on inside out Towels were worn out, the bathroom badly needs renovation 3. Breakfast was a disgrace Every day the same disappointing options: Tasteless omelet Greasy mystery meat patties Stale bread Terrible coffee Microwave and toaster were available only on the first floor. In the room, there was a cheap coffee maker we didn’t dare to use.

If you are confused by the hot and cold comments/reviews...please read this and let me clarify.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights the last week of August. I was worried about the bad reviews but the good reviews and location persuaded me and we gave it a shot. We did, unfortunately, get to experience the good and bad with this hotel.

Previous comments are correct. The hotel does smell like chlorine - here is why --- the hotel was constructed with the pool in the middle of the hotel. Similar to a courtyard type with the reception, pool and breakfast area in the middle and the rooms in a square surrounding it. Sure to this construction (and not being a true open air courtyard) the pool smell is not contained to a "pool area" and...yes...you can smell it. It didn't bother us though but heads up if you are sensitive to smells. Just odd construction and could be the cause of some of the damp/wallpaper issues. This is a very busy hotel. Lots of families. Not a problem for us but please be aware. Upon booking we requested a quiet (as much as possible) room. I was worried about the bad reviews I read and we were traveling with a young family (aka little is asleep early). At check in we again requested a quiet room and we were assured it was "the 3rd floor" and "it will be nice and quiet"......well turns out...very, very wrong...to the point it felt intentional/malicious of the checkin person. We over looked the pool, breakfast and checkin area. It was incredibly loud until after 10pm and then the pool occupants relocated back to their rooms around us. We could hear everything...a dad chasing his young daughter above us with a "Daddy!!!" Everytime he caught her (would be cute if it wasn't 11pm to 1am) and our heads shook every time the neighbors slammed their doors (this went on to 2 am. Wall shook, headboards shook and so did we)..it was terrible. I have NEVER left mid hotel stay but we almost did. My spouse went down at 6am to see if anything could be done. We were instructed to wait for the day manager to be on at 8am and speak with him. Both the young man in the morning and the day manager were very helpful and the day manager got us into a quieter room as soon as one became available (this one was in the exterior of the building). From that point on we had a much better stay and we were much happier. The day manager was very helpful throughout our stay and we found the staff to be helpful (aside from the first person to check us in).

Things to be aware of: 1) if you face the interior of the hotel...it will be a loud stay. This is why some of the mixed reviews if you are interior...good chance it will be a bad stay, exterior rooms will have a much better stay. 2) yes, the hotel is worn and is a older hotel. The a/c didn't work well in the first room and the water in the bathroom sink sprayed you whenever you turned it on in the second. Wallpaper is peeling here and there and the carpets are worn too 3) breakfast was good. Basic but all that you need is there. We went early and didn't have any issues with it being busy 4) location and parking is excellent.

I would CONSIDER staying here again knowing what we know now (I would never stay in an interior room again) , how helpful the day manager was and breakfast, parking and location.

Thank you to your hardworking day manager who fixed this for us. Very unhappy with the person who checked us in (we checked in right at 3pm on a Sunday. We didn't check in late. We should not have been put into the room we...

Just got back from a long weekend. Stayed here in a jacuzzi suite, room 625. All these negative reviews made me nervous but we were pleasantly surprised. Arrived at 9:30pm on Thursday. No one at desk but she came out within a minute, checked in quickly, was very friendly. Room was clean, maybe a bit outdated but I'm not complaining. The price was right. Jacuzzi was large and so nice for our tired muscles. I put the Do Not Disturb on the door the first night. Was a little irritated that the maid then called the room at 10am, asking when she could clean. I requested she come after 2pm. Saw her in the hall later and explained that we sleep late and 2pm would be great for our entire stay. Not sure if this also helped, but we left a $4-$5 tip for her each day. Our room was impeccably cleaned, fresh towels, new soaps and toiletries, bed made. Loved coming back to this as we often don't get maid service due to our sleep schedule. I thought the pool was cute, small and indoors. Too many kids in it so we stuck with our jacuzzi instead. Free parking and always enough spaces. Also plenty of luggage carts to use. Breakfast was light. My husband made himself a bagel breakfast sandwich, the OJ was on point! Cold and tasted good. I did not like their coffee but the hubby said it was fine for him. We found a diner nearby, Hi-Lite Diner. Less than a 10 minute drive and cost us less than half of what we spent at Dennys. $70 compared to $28 CAD. Definitely check that out. A few cons: not many TV stations, our room got very hot at times (you can't control the unit), and a king bed would have been better than a queen. But really nothing that bad. We had a nice view looking towards the water park, there was a desk with computer chair so hubby could watch TV without having to sit on the bed, hot water kicked right on, very friendly staff. Apparently all the suites are on the 6th floor, which is the top floor. Although we had to wait a bit for the elevator at times, we found it very quiet. Only met one other couple from our floor, and we only saw them once. Definitely less people and kids, so I'd suggest springing for a suite if you can. There isn't an ice machine on that floor but I actually preferred that. Less noise, and no people milling around. There is one on the 5th floor. If you aren't too picky, and aren't expecting a 5 star resort, this hotel is great! Can't beat the location and free parking! Thanks for a great stay! We'll definitely...

Check in was pleasant. The young lady at the front desk was clear on the package that we had with the room (Indoor Water Park). She provided us with all the information we needed, the braclets for the WaterPark and the additional coupons that came with the package.

From there we went to the room - our room door lock was a little annoying (required swiping the card 3 or 4 times before it unlocked correctly). Older key card inserted in the front (swipe method). We entered the room and was clean but a little dated. The carpet, lamps, furniture and beds all require an update sooner than later but comfortable nontheless (for the price).

We had a room with a balcony looking over the attrium (breakfast in the mornings) as well as the communal pool. Pool temperature was more than satisfactory and very clean. Also had a sauna (room for 2) as well as a outdoor shower to clean off. Towels were provided as well.

Our room had 2 rooms adjacent to each other. Parents in 1 and kids in the other. Not all room comes that way but ours did (R214). No USB charging plugs in the walls (this day and age - at least 1 plug per room should have an internal USB charger). We had our own, regardless but needs to be mentioned. Mini fridge available. TV in each room (if you have an adjacent room). TV is a 32in with HDMI inputs.

Balcony area is directly attached to other rooms so don't expect privacy but is nice when you want to watch the kids in the pool or get your partner to get you a bagel on their way back to the room ;).

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It is only 1 block from the Water Park and 1 block from Clifton Hill (where all the entertainment is). Parking is free and abundant. Bonus is that there is a convenience store on that opposite corner which is very convenient, no pun intended.

All in all - this was a pleasant stay. On my 2nd visit to the front desk on day 3 of our 4 day stay - the young man was a little bland with his service but still provided me with what I needed when I asked. Check on on the last day was a good experience and if I visit Niagara falls again, I will definately come back here as the price, location & amenities was perfect for our family.

As stated in many reviews - I saw no sign of any type of racist attitudes. The staff was pleasant and...
