The rumours are true. This place has the kind of food you go back for again, and again...and again. I had the curry goat roti wrap and it was delicious! I also liked the slaw. The dahlpuri roti was super thin and perfectly cooked - if you've never had dahlpuri roti this is the place to try it. The curry was flavourful with the right level of heat (for me anyway). I like to be able to taste my next bite. Portion was very generous and I basically rolled out of there. The big (and pleasant) surprise was the snacked called a Double. I don't know much about Trinidadian food so this was new to me. I brought one home for dinner because I was curious. It's two pieces of a light puffy dough filled with chickpea curry that was awesome. I got the mild but I'm betting the hot is great too. I can happily see myself working my way through the whole menu. The owners are lovely and the place has an unpretentious and welcoming vibe. Thank you for a wonderful lunch Sally! I...
Read moreIf there were 0 stars, I would gladly give it. I can't phantom how they managed to get 5 star reviews. Place was recommended to me as a 'Mom & Pop' Caribbean eatery. Went there a total of 3 different times. In all instances, they were unfriendly and lacked basic customer service and hygiene. At the height of the pandemic, masks being worn on elbows. Food being prepared without gloves; after handling cash and a grease smudged wireless phone. They are a public health nuisance, and fail in practicing due diligence in ensuring their clients well being. Pandamic or not, there are basic food and hospitality hygiene protocols every establishment follows. I really wanted to support them, and wanted them to succeed, i justfied the negative experience i had with their establishment, due to stress on their part. Visited a third time, got the same frowning 'i would rather be elsewhere' service, and also ended up sick from the food. I have learned my lesson,...
Read moreIt was good... we just got back from a fantastic trip to Jamaica. My birthday was last Thursday, and we hurd good things, so we thought we would try it out. It was very uncomfortable hot,the heater were pumping out some heat, you could hear people at there tables talking about how uncomfortable they were. The daycore was very simple, like it was in Jamaica, a few tables and a few stools at a window bench. We went up to the counter to places our orders. I Jamaica my husband had the curry goat. So he had it in a pram, stuffed with potatoes. I had the curry chicken in the wrap. The prices were fare. No much selections of drinks. It was good... but it wasn't as good as Jamaica. I think the difference is the meat, grain fed and vegetable fed. Jamaica, the meat was if it was in a pot allday stewing, as we come to find it how it done there. We will be...
