I am writing on behalf of my family who ordered $150.00 worth of dinner this evening for a birthday. My family and I are so disappointed in the food quality from Teddys. It’s been years since we’ve ordered and we recently thought it would be great to try their food again for a birthday celebration. We ordered dinner for 6 people. First and foremost, the French fries were warm and soggy. None of us ate them. My mother ordered the sirloin and it was warm and tough. My step dad also tried a bite and confirmed it was chewy and had hard fat in the middle (photo shown before I gave it to my Labrador for dinner). We typically eat higher qualities of meat from local farms and this meal reminded us why we don’t usually eat out. The chicken salad club sandwich was horrible. This was my meal. The chicken salad was extremely salty. Also, the sandwich was wrapped up in tinfoil paper and when I opened it the bread was wet and soggy with the chicken salad slopped all over the inside. Lastly, my son had the children’s spaghetti and red meat sauce. My grandmother, mother, step father, husband and brother all couldn’t believe the portion of the sauce that was slopped on top of the warm noodles. Two tablespoons at best. I ended up opening a can of red sauce at my moms and making more so my young child could enjoy a proper pasta dish. Teddys quality has gone downhill significantly over the years. As a young woman who grew up in Oshawa, going to Teddys decades ago was such a treat. I have fond memories of having family meals at the restaurant and at home as their food was fresh, hot and tasty. This experience has been terrible and very saddening as we were looking forward to a nice family birthday meal. My family and I feel as if our time and money has been wasted as food was thrown out and food had to be remade or cooked in order to enjoy it. We will never eat at Teddys again. We wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to family and friends or anyone in the community. Very low quality ingredients and foods.

The experience started good. When we entered the restaurant a customer recommended to share as the portion sizes are big and you always take food home. The restaurant decor is busy and fun lots to look at. Our original server was very nice and made good recommendations. We had the Julienne salad to share with the house dressing. For the price it wasn't anything to write home about. When you enter the restaurant they display their famous homemade pies. We mentioned to our server that we would like to buy a strawberry pie. After our meal we wanted to get our pie to go and a very rude waitress then told us they would not sell us a pie because they needed them for customers in the dining room. I had to laugh because we too are customers who just at in the dining room. They even have have a little plaque that says "we come second, the customer comes first." What a joke. While my partner waited for the bill I had to use the restroom. It looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. There was urine drips on every toilet seat. Tissue around the toilets and the sinks were gross. The Dyson airblade hand dryer was covered in dirt and had slime at the bottom. Needless to say I wiped my hands on my dress. Very disappointed.

4.5 Solid experience. I tried going here a while ago, and the line-up was almost out the door. I'm not waiting 45 minutes. This time I chose my time a bit more carefully and was rewarded by no wait, and a restaurant that was just ending its lunch rush. Of course a busy place is never a bad thing. Slow restaurants make me nervous. Food was really good, I had the Philly steak sandwich, and my eating partner has the Teddy burger, which is a burger with bacon. Both were very reasonably priced, prepared the way they should be, not overly salty or over cooked. Portions seemed small because the plate was large! I was stuffed after. Cheryl was very nice, super quick and made sure we were taken care of. Food came out faster than I expected, which is always a nice surprise. Seating was good, lots of booths, which always seem in short supply at other restaurants. Would definitely go back, there are so many items on the menu worth trying.

WASTE OF $! I have tried and tried to remain faithful to Teddy’s since their change in ownership but last night’s dinner was the end game for me. I picked up my take out Turkey dinner, one of my all time favourites. ( The price has not only gone up but has skyrocketed but I’m happy to pay for quality)The food was …. Disgusting and inedible. The stuffing was worse than out of a box and was over salted and they buried the most unappetizing looking dark meat Turkey under 2 slices of white meat! I mean, have you ever seen Grey Turkey before ?! Yuck! This meat was not roasted. I don’t know what they are doing there anymore. I had the sirloin dinner last month and could barely chew the meat. It all went in the trash and that was another $30 down the drain and eggs and toast for dinner. Take my advice and steer clear of this Restaurant! When the original owners retired, they should have done the right thing and just closed their doors! 🫤

We found this place by accident (no I didn't trip and fell into the restaurant lol) and we're so glad we did because apparently this place has been an Oshawa institution for over 4 decades. we absolutely love places like this because it is made to serve the community by people who love the community. You will be treated like family when you come here regardless of what walk of life you came from. You will leave full and with takeout because their portions are large and you will not leave poor because their prices are very reasonable. I will make every excuse I can to come here as often as I can and encourage everyone to do the same because we need to keep places like this open forever. I attempted the burger challenge and obviously failed because it's a massive portion. You should try it because the price itself is very reasonable for the amount of food you get and you're basically getting 2-3 meals.

This place is still very good but not as great as when the original owners had it unfortunately as some of the food quality and service level has gone down a bit from how I remember it back in the day. It is still above average and the portions are hearty and the prices are more than fair for what you receive so kudos to them for still providing a great value to the people of Oshawa and those who visit. The food was fresh and still tasty and the house salad dressing is still on point. The desserts were awesome as that coconut cream or strawberry pie is something to write home about. I’d always recommend to try this place out because it’s still a great time and for the price and what you get it’s tough to beat. Expect a slight wait at peak hours because it is a popular place and does get busy at times. Also there is plenty of parking so no issues there.
