EDIT: My latest experience has me disappointed. I ordered what I typically order...cheese and jalapeno paratha was among my "normal". This was SPICY...beyond spicy. I can take spice but this was overbearing. I did inquire with the person who took our payment and she said "this is called spicy jalapeno". I told her that jalapeno has a distinct flavour and is not spicy like whatever was in this paratha. The waiter came out and I took it up with him. He was more knowledgeable about what the reason for the spicy experience was...he acknowledged my experience and did say that it was jalapeno HOWEVER spices are mixed into the dough of the paratha and that is why it is red/orange in colour. I did say that makes more sense but was puzzled as to why this wasn't my experience before. Our other paratha (mutton) had the same spicy dough. I am guessing it's a different chef? Anyways, it burnt my lip quite badly. I've never reacted to spicy food in this manner. They need to be more CLEAR on their menu which ones have some wicked spice added and which ones do not. I can't bear to return at the moment, unfortunately because I'm still unsettled from that experience.
The customer service from the one was no good. And no one apologized for the additional spice and the misleading menu or that things have changed.
BUYER, BEWARE! We love Urban Parathas!! Please come open a location in Winnipeg 💜
Our friends told us about this gem of a place located in Regina! It's the perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner while road tripping across the prairies. Located very close to HWY 1, it's not a huge detour at all, and way better than eating at some fast food joint.
Food: all the food we have eaten here is delicious! Cheese paratha, garlic paratha, chicken paratha, aloo paratha, samosa chat, mango Lassi, it's all good!! The chai was good too. Needs to be more karak. The achaar is AMAZING!! Value is very good too! You can get many parathas and share with your travelling companions, etc.
Atmosphere: clean, accessible restaurant, small but very open, so you don't feel congested or too crowded with other patrons. A clean restaurant is a good indication of the food, in my opinion.
Staff: We've always interacted with the same fellow..a very nice guy who is kind and attentive. He really manages everything so well! Thank you for making us feel at home! Friends do say they have other staff there, which they've interacted with, so I'm glad there's help!
Parking: free and plentiful. It's located in a strip mall, next to a nail salon and kitty corner to Superstore...so it's a huge, sometimes busy lot but you'll always find a spot nearby.
I can't...

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy and inviting ambiance of the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and comfortable.
The menu is a paratha lover's dream, offering a wide variety of delicious and innovative options. Each paratha I tried was perfectly cooked, with a delightful blend of flavors that left me wanting more. The paneer paratha, in particular, was a standout - packed with generous fillings and cooked to perfection.
What truly sets Urban Parathas apart is their commitment to quality and freshness. Every bite tasted like it was made with the finest ingredients, and the attention to detail was evident in every dish. The accompanying chutneys and raitas were the perfect complements, adding an extra layer of flavor to the meal.
Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends, Urban Parathas is the place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious meal. I'll definitely be...
Read moreThis is a very small restaurant with only 4 tables but takeout is VERY popular. My mom and I wanted to try them out while also trying new things we wouldn’t normally eat.
Together we ordered Paneer Pav Bhaji ($10.99), Chicken Kati Roll ($10.99), Samosa Chaat ($8.99), Lamb Saag ($17.99), Saffron Rice ($4.49), and 2 orders of garlic Naan ($3.99 each).
My mom’s favourite was the Chicken Kati Roll! Great flavours and would definitely eat again.
The samosa chaat tasted awesome, but the samosas were quite smaller than what we’re used too.
My absolute favourite was the Paneer Pav Bhaji! The flavour combination in this mixed with minced onions and buttery buns was absolutely delicious.
The Saag wasn’t as green as we expected it to be, but it still tasted good. The saffron rice also wasn’t as yellow as I expected, I couldn’t taste the saffron.
I would recommend this spot! The prices are reasonable...
