Milu Fresh Rolls & V-Subs(EAST) — Restaurant in Regina

Food is always delicious, but the service is TERRIBLE. I ordered 2 spring roll rice bowls for pick up, repeated multiple times over the phone that I wanted two spring roll rice bowls. When I get there for pick up, I told the waitress I called in 2 spring roll rice bowls for pick up but the waitress said “don’t you mean 4?” I said no, I ordered only 2. She argued back saying the person who took my order “confirmed it 2 or 3 times over the phone you wanted 4 orders.” She still took 2 out and only charged me for 2, but the argument was completely unnecessary. I don’t know what the point was of bringing up the miscommunication on their part.

Then, when we finally get home to eat our food, that’s when we found out we didn’t get what we ordered. We were given 2 noodle bowls, not rice bowls. I get it, it’s been a long day for everyone, and I was looking forward to the rice bowl. I called the restaurant back and the same waitress argued saying “I confirmed with you that you ordered 2 noodle bowls when you were here.” I said “no, again I ordered 2 rice bowls.” She told me to bring in the noodle bowls (I’m assuming to confirm we were given noodles instead of rice), and said they’ll replace it. It’s completely out of my way to bring the food back (I live NW, and the restaurant is far east, 10-15min drive one way), but still willing to. After asking if there’s any form of compensation for this mistake, she reluctantly said “yeah I can give you a free drink or spring rolls.” When we got there, the service was still crap because this same waitress decided to give more attitude and blame us for the mistake. We got our food, the extra 2 pieces of spring rolls, and checked it (they were nice enough to make it fresh for us) but I won’t be coming back here.

Food is great but the service...

We had lunch here and ordered based on a recommendation from family.

We started with the shrimp spring rolls, but that vanished before I could take pictures of them which says alot. It had a citrus aroma that makes you want more and does what an appetizer should. My husband and I ordered the Tom yum noodles and the pork skewer bowls 🥣.

The tom yum noodle bowl was chef's kiss. The soup had a kick (spicy) that makes you just want to devour the whole dish. It wasn't too spicy that it was uncomfortable but spicy enough to keep you wanting. It had chicken, carrots, krab, mushroom, green onions, lemongrass, shrimp balls, and lastly cilantro on top (so you can leave that last one out if you'd like).

The pork skewer bowl wasn't too salty which is perfect for me, and came with rice noodles, lettuce, shredded carrots, cucumber, mango and strawberries.

We then had the Taro boba and blueberry iced tea. The Taro boba was dessert in a cup. You can also taste the Taro (flavor reminds me of fresh ube yams). The blueberry iced tea is very refreshing and comes with chia seeds and coconut jelly.

All dishes were very healthy and flavorful. Ate alot but did not feel heavy or get any sort of food coma after, just satisfaction. Would love to come back on...

I came here with my partner because he kept singing Milu's praises. Now I know why he became their bard. We ordered Milu Ultimate and lemongrass chicken v-subs. I could not get my eyes off of their basil seed drinks, so I had to get one. The server was helpful and patient with our order! I am also happy to see how observant they are about covid guidelines -- I accidentally walked the wrong way when I was leaving and a cashier kindly pointed me the right way.

Everything we ordered was delicious! I had no idea what the basil seed drink would taste like going in, but the taste is pleasant and homely. The best analogue for it that I can make is that it tastes like a cross between watermelon and spinach. Very refreshing!

The Milu Ultimate is now an instant favourite of mine. They put a lot of meat on it and juuuuust the right amount of cilantro. I'm not normally a fan of cilantro (I have that thing where it tastes like soap), but I am glad I made an exception this time around. The lemongrass chicken sandwich was also good, the chicken was saucy and had the perfect texture for the sandwich.
