The Brewhouse in Saskatoon has been an amazing experience for our family of five so it was only natural for us to go to the Brewhouse in Regina. But wow was there a difference in locations! Our experience at the Regina Brewhouse was a bad one during a time of day before it was busy.
When we ordered our food, we thought we were going to get some starter vegetables at our table for the kids while they waited for their food like we do in Saskatoon. When we asked about them, we were told it was either fries or vegetables with the kids meal. Right on the kids menu it stated, vegetables and do would be delivered promptly to the table after ordering kids meals. The waitress again said its either fries or vegetables with the meals.
Once we received our food our waitress came by our table twice: once at the beginning of the meal and once at the end. Between these two visits, we could have used a number of things with our meal which we didn't get. During her last visit, my wife and I asked for refills on drinks, which we never received. Our son didn't eat his meal, so we asked to have it packed up. A container was never brought to our table and at that point we were just wanting to leave so we completely forgot about it. We paid for a meal that wasn't eaten.
There is a little remote at the table to get our waitress' attention. We pressed the button and waited a LONG time for someone to come. The person that finally arrived with the debit machine wasn't our waitress, and she had to leave to get our waitresses access code for the debit machine. We waited.... again.
When the (not our) waitress asked how everything was, I told her it was disappointing. I explained to her our experience. Instead of grabbing a manager she said "sorry, but I hope your evening gets better.
At this point, my wife took the kids out to the car. One of the kids came back in to remind me of the desserts they didn't get that was included. When I told them about it, I had to wait awhile for these desserts... again.
I don't want a free meal from the Regina's Canadian Brewhouse (unless we can use that free meal in Saskatoon). I want plutonium for our DeLorean so I can go back in time to implore my past family to not go to this establishment and waist the money my present family spent.
If you are a family who is thinking of going to the Brewhouse in Regina, don't. Go to the one in Saskatoon instead. It is worth the trip. I am thoroughly unimpressed with the lack of attention during our time there. If you absolutely have to go there, just dig through the dumpster. You'll more than likely have a better experience doing that than actually going inside. And if you happen to find my meal in the garbage, can you please message me for my address. I'd like that meal. I spent too much money there to not get...
Read moreI went to the Canadian Brewhouse with my husband and two 16 year old boys. Immediately we were told that they stop serving minors at 8pm. It was 7pm so I asked if that was enough time to get dinner. They said it would be okay.
They requested that we go to the side of the restaurant where there were no clean tables and most of the tables were reserved. I asked a waitress if we could go to the other side of the restaurant since we couldn't find a table where requested. She said that was okay.
I Immediately told a waitress in the section that we have two minors and we are trying to get our meal before 8pm. I didn't know who would be serving us but I thought the waitress I spoke to would pass on the message to the appropriate person.
Because I knew we had to get our dinner fast, and I knew several members of the staff knew we had to be out of there by 8. I expected that there would be some communication between staff members that we needed to have our dinner promptly so we could get our 16 year olds out before 8pm. Unfortunately, no one came to our table and I had to waive down management to get someone to take our order. I ordered another drink and that took forever. I honestly didn't even know who our server was the whole meal! Then at the end of the meal the waitress asked us for a positive review of her service? I really didn't even know she was my waitress so that kind of took me a back.
At 8:05 I was still trying to finish my unpromptly served beverage and had my payment with generous tip despite the lack of service on the table. No one had any trouble remembering at 8:05 that we were supposed to leave. I was told having minors after 8 was a strict policy. If it was such a strict policy then why wasn't service prompt? Why was there no communication between staff members? Why was I so rushed, and why did I have to waive people down to get served? I spent $153.00 for me, my husband and two 16 year old kids to have dinner. It was okayish. I can cook, I know good food. I like to treat my family occasionally to a meal out, but I'm usually disappointed. I was super upset at the end of the night, when at 8:10, before I could finish my drink that we had to leave. If 8pm for minors is such a strict policy then mabey you should just be honest and say you can't meet th 8pm deadline, or try to be prompt if you say you can. Not really a great experience. Also, If waitresses are asking for great reviews mabey thay should give great service? I'm giving 3 stars instead of one because I think this could have been solved with better...
Read moreMy 5 friends and I got a table @ the brew house at 9:30pm. As it was two of my friends birthday and they refused to serve any alcohol at this time. I took a picture when we were waiting for a server and it was 940pm. The server said they stop serving alcohol at 9:30pm but the government of Saskatchewan regulations say: Restaurants and licensed establishments (bars, taverns, nightclubs) must stop serving alcohol (on-table service) by 10 p.m. and consumption must end by 11 p.m. There are no exceptions for private events or outdoor serving spaces.
We accepted their made up rule to stop serving at all by 9:30pm but as we ordered a soda the announcer came on at 950pm and said “last call is officially over”. This is when I got upset. I feel like, because we came asking for a sangria and getting denied, it felt like we were denied because we’re visibly First Nations people. I then went up to her and said the announcer just said last call was over and we tried to get service before then. She dismissed us so we got the manager involved and at 952 he said he would get us drinks. Which was fine. I feel as if we are discriminated against as FN people. When the lady brought our soda’s out - i said “we would like to order food too” and she said they would tell a server to come over. I’m writing this at 10:20 and we still haven’t gotten served. She has not returned. We’ve been sitting down since 930 pm and we have not been asked about our food order. 50 minutes total. So because we asked her to get drinks and made a little bit of a fuss about the sask gov regulations, she’s not taking food orders. She is standing in the back in a circle with 4 other servers and looking at our group. I feel humiliated, and hurt.
Complete discrimination @ Canadian Brew House. I then asked our server if we could get served and asked if she could stop talking about our group and she started laughing at us and told us to sit down. I asked to talk to the manager and they sent another server to us and said we have been harassing 3 times when I’m just trying to speak to a manager and plead our case and not be discriminated against.
This kind of behaviour is unacceptable for me. It truly hurts that we get treated this way. It’s 1025 and we have not been asked our food...
