Went there last Friday for an event. The security staff was horrible, arrogant, and racist. I am a short petite Indian girl who got man handled by the one of the male bouncers before the event even started. The bouncer, manager and other staff were rude to me and my friends and wouldn't let us in (we were not drunk, we had tickets that they scanned, this happened closer to 11pm) I asked ticketfly for a refund for my ticket as I never got to attend/enjoy the event due to the arrogance by the venue's staff and apparently the organizer of the event is non cooperative. The event organizer refuses to tell me the name of the security company so I can make an official complaint and show them evidence (time stamps, my bruises as a result of this bouncer shoving me against the wall). Toronto police officers tell me that apparently the venue is technically these people's space and they are entitled to act however they wish. Essentially, it's a bunch of arrogant people running the show and wouldn't let you in if they don't like you. Terrible experience, I will never go...
Read moreGreat little venue! It has a very casual basement bar vibe, but is reasonably well maintained and clean. Polite staff, quick service, ample washroom facilities, good sound, and is overall very comfortable.
The show I went to had the VIP seats in the middle, right in front of the stage on folding chairs. It was awesome! The regular ticket area looked fairly comfortable too. Most people were standing, but there are a few benches along the walls and a long bar area around the centre where early arrivers can lean against and set down drinks while watching the show.
The address is 250 Adelaide, but this venue is in the basement of the building and the entrance is on Duncan Street north of Adelaide
Please note: The entrance on Adelaide goes to a completely different bar that takes up the top 3 floors of the building. The Adelaide entrance bar charges a cover, has a country theme on one floor, Irish sports bar theme on the next, and a crowded rooftop patio bar. The door people are rude, the service is slow, and the music is terrible....
Read moreThe club has been renovated and relabeled. It goes by the name of Radio now. It may be hard to find it if you are new to this area, but it really only takes a quick question for any local to point you in the right direction. The club is decorated with a radio-theme ambiance. The night of November 2, 2018, it was the venue for Descemer Bueno's "Nos fuimos lejos" tour. The Latin-american (mostly composed of Cubans) did not disappoint. Descemer was happy to be back in Toronto and its successful mix of Reggaetton and troubadour's lyrics pleased the diverse taste in his audience. The Grammy and Latin Grammy winner, played his beloved "Guajira, I love you too much", "Bailando" (the mega pop hit with Enrique Iglesias) and other well-received trovas. It was a lovely night to dance and sing along! Long live Cuba, long...
