Not coming back here.
Was surprised at the extra charge for getting a drink iced/with a flavour shot as most cafes don’t charge extra for this, and the owner clapped back to this review very rudely. The coffee flavour was also weak, but I originally didn’t mention that in my review because I was trying to be nice.
How can you deny I was charged extra for an iced drink when I clearly saw it on the tablet when I was paying? Now I’m definitely telling everyone I know not to go here. And FYI, a 3 star review wouldn’t put a dent in you 4.7 star rating the way a 1 star would, so you helped bring your own rating down by two more stars by just being a bitter person. You could have made this right and replied nicely.
And seeing the owner’s replies to other reviews, it’s clear they don’t care about what paying customers think. Posting their original reply here:
Dear Abeera! You know that reviews are not written just like that, for fun, but they affect the rating and reputation...? So how surprised we were, because you liked everything and - 3 stars. The price of a hot and cold drink is the same, there is no charge for ice))) And, extra for syrup is not taken only in those coffee shops where the syrup consists of chemical elements and it is bought and not prepared by chefs! In our case, our flavours made by hand from real ingredients! And be careful with our pastries, we also prepare them from scratch and we take payment for raspberries and for French butter in a croissant and for Swiss chocolate, you may not...
Read moreI visited El Pacho Coffee Roasters in Toronto on a Friday afternoon and had a genuinely pleasant experience. Although the café is relatively small inside, it’s well laid out with cozy seating and tables that make it easy to relax and enjoy your drink. One great bonus is the small outdoor terrace, which adds extra space and offers a nice spot to sit when the weather’s good, perfect for soaking up some sun with your coffee.
We ordered two lattes, one hot and one iced, and a cheese croissant. Both lattes were smooth, well-balanced, and served at just the right temperature. The croissant was fresh, flaky, and had a rich cheesy flavour that paired beautifully with the coffee. It’s clear they care about quality ingredients and preparation.
The service was efficient and straightforward. While the barista wasn’t overly chatty or expressive, she was polite and got everything right, which I appreciated. Sometimes direct service is exactly what you need when you're just looking to unwind.
Overall, El Pacho is a great spot if you're looking for a quiet, cozy café with solid coffee and tasty pastries. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and want a break from the usual chains, this place...
Read moreStopped by for a late Friday breakfast after seeing so many glowing reviews about the consistency of their coffee. I don’t drink coffee myself, so I went for a hot chocolate instead — and honestly, I have high standards when it comes to hot chocolate. Powdered stuff? Immediate no.
The one here is made with real chocolate (yes!), and while it’s not super rich, it actually worked out perfectly for a hot summer day — not too heavy, but still satisfying. If you’re a coffee lover, please try their coffee and let me know what the hype is about — I’m curious but not converting anytime soon 😄
Now, the cheddar cheese croissant? Unexpectedly good. It was huge and packed with flavor — buttery, beautifully layered, and surprisingly not messy. I love croissants but hate when the flakes go everywhere… this one had the layers without the chaos.
The only downside? It’s a little pricey — $16 before tip for a small hot chocolate (with lactose-free milk) and a croissant. That said, I’d come back again, especially if I can catch a croissant fresh out of the oven. I bet that...
