This is a new restaurant near Union, very close to where I work. So I was pretty interested in trying it out one day. I use the app TooGoodtoGo pretty often, and I saw that DoughBox was offering a Pasta Bag for pickup in the next hour. Since I was already at work and only a 5 minute walk away, I said why not, try it out. I think this is the worst experience I've ever had with a TGTG order. I paid around $5 for exactly that - half a bowl of pasta. Based on Doughbox's menu, a small pasta is $10.99. Based on photos I see from other customers, normally their small pasta is an almost full box. Please see my photo for what I got - you can see on the sides that it's not even half full. I've also included my hand in the photo so you can see how SMALL the box is to begin with. That is not the nature of the app and Doughbox misrepresented what they were offering, which is supposed to be food with a value of around $15 (3 times the price you pay on the app), as it's supposed to be food from the previous day or not 100% fresh - I shouldn't be paying full price for that. If you're not going to uphold the spirit of the app, don't use it. Finally you can tell that a lot of the Google Reviews for Doughbox are not authentic. Don't be fooled by their high rating. I'd imagine eating in you'd have a better experience than me but I'm not coming back to give it that chance. Edit: As evidence of fake reviews - please see the one where the reviewer just wrote [pizza restaurant] instead of Doughbox. Don't gaslight me I know what I'm talking about.

Pizza was pretty good. We got the Electric flavour (most popular, they told me), it had a few pieces of Jerk chicken, pineapple, red bell peppers and more. The dough was very good, it was thin and crusty enough that it held up pretty well when lifting the slice. The flavours were layered with tanginess and some sour and sweetness from the aioli and pineapple. I can see why it’s popular although I wasn’t particularly sold on the sauce they put on top of the pizza, something you’d see on a burger or poutine, not really on a pizza. Next time I get another pizza, I will ask them to skip out on this, made the pizza too creamy. The chicken wings were good too, juicy inside and flavourful outside. They garlic dough bites were freshly baked so they had the gooiness that I like from pizza crust. I brought the rest home and will stuff them with prosciutto and arugula, think that would be perfect. Aside from the vegetarian pasta and pizza and salad options, they also have a make your own pizza where you can choose veggie toppings. Service was excellent, greeted when I came in, they were on ready to recommend and quite friendly and helpful overall.

After giving this place two chances, I'm disappointed to say DoughBox Wood Fired Pizza doesn't live up to expectations. I tried a Margherita on my first visit and a two-topping pizza on my second, hoping the first experience was just an off day. The pizza quality was mediocre at best. Their house spicy sauce had no heat whatsoever, which is misleading for customers expecting some kick. The fried onions were overly sweet, throwing off the flavor balance of the pizza. The chicken had an unusual smell that was off-putting, though I'm not sure what caused it. Service was adequate but nothing special - staff did their job without going above or beyond. While the concept of wood-fired pizza in downtown Toronto is appealing, the execution falls short. The combination of bland flavors and inconsistent ingredient quality makes this a place I won't be returning to anytime soon. For the price point and location, there are better pizza options available in the area.

I recently visited this establishment and I must say I am very disappointed, I had high hopes from the reviews I read on Google but was heavily let down and I'm convinced almost all of these reviews are bots and are fake.

Firstly this place probably violated hundreds of health codes and there was very little consideration to avoiding cross contamination for those who take halal or vegan options, they weren't changing gloves after touching meat and I am a vegetarian and felt very uncomfortable seeing that. They also use the same pizza cutters for all pizza regardless of what toppings are touching it, I specifically requested a different plate and cutter be used or cleaned for my pizza and was assured it would be done however I observed they did not accommodate my request.

Secondly we were assured that it would take less than ten minutes but we stood there waiting for almost thirty minutes and the place wasn't even busy at the time!

Thirdly about the food itself, it was average despite the fact that the bottom of my pizza was basically black, I ordered the create your own and they were being so stingy with the toppings. My brother got the carbonara pasta and it was so overcooked and bland. We also got a Margherita pizza which was basically 10% cheese and 90% tasteless sauce which made the entire pizza soggy and unappetizing.

Lastly the restaurant was kind of dirty, the tables were sticky and there were crumbs all over the table and floor. The fountain machine was dirty too, both my brother and I got fountain drinks but after looking at the state of the machine we just ended up buying drinks from the store next door.

Overall I seriously would not recommend this place do not fall for all the fake good reviews (seems like I am not the only one who has noticed this). There are countless other places worth spending...

This will be a long review. My wife and I were in Toronto staying at the Sheraton for a conference. I had ordered pizza, wings and garlic bread on Saturday night online (you have to pay online can not pay at the store). 2 min after were asked to join friends for dinner with them. I call the store that the order went to, University Ave and ask if they have started the order, is it to late to cancel? they say "we have already started it". Ok no problem, call the friend to say thanks for the offer when the store calls back, they haven't started, they have cancelled it but we need to go online to get a refund since thats where I ordered it. OK can do. Go online, click contact support, "any issues with your order please contact the franchise location".

Call back the store, tells me I have to go through online and I tell him the online number on the website is his. He asks if he can call me back in 5 min, needs to call the owner. OK fine

Go out with our friends, he calls 90 min later in the middle of my dinner asking if i can screenshot my order to his personal phone. Told him I would walk to him after our dinner, only 5 min away from the restaurant and hotel.

I visit the him and ask if its easier to just switch the order to Sunday night, and he says yes, I ask for it for Sunday at 6.

I show up at 6, my garlic bread is ready and nothing else, keep in mind there is one other person in the store and one uber eats driver, thats it...they aren't not swamped. He then makes one of the pizzas, cooks it, then the other, then the wings. I walk the 5 min back. My garlic bread is rock hard, my pizza is cold and wings are the only thing hot in the entire order. Also I understand wood fired pizza ends up with char, but one pizza literally had flakes or burnt cheese fluttering off...
