One of the worst customer service experiences I've had in 30 years living in Toronto. The manager was rude and argumentative to our entire group. In my personal experience, I wasn't asked for an order for about 30 minutes, despite waiting a while and asking several staff if I could please place an order for a drink. The manager and server took issue with the fact that we had two tables that knew each other, and the manager insisted that because she could tell we knew each other, even though we were sat at separate tables, our parties absolutely had to be combined in one bill. She and the server were fully absorbed with this question and in the meantime declined to take any orders for at least 30 minutes, during which we were also told we could not buy drinks at the bar. After about 45 minutes, I politely asked for a glass of water, and the manager flat out told me that she would not bring me one, which was honestly unnecessarily hostile and bizarre. At no point was I asked if I would like to order food, and in the end we all had to leave.

Further client service training would probably help, as the interpersonal skills were lacking to say the least. Conciliatory phrases like, "I am very sorry, but" or "unfortunately, this is the case" were not used. On the contrary, the person we spoke to seemed fairly confrontational. The oddest thing is that the restaurant is a large space in a central location near mutiple conference venues, yet seemed unprepared to serve groups (which seems like it should be their niche). As well, there were few other customers present at the restaurant, so I feel our business should have been more welcome. Overall, found it a very bad vibe and I won't be returning after that experience. I feel we were all polite, reasonable, and just there to have a nice time. If there are more than six people in your group, I would highly recommend going elsewhere; maybe Jack Astor's or Beertown,...

The Loose Moose in downtown Toronto is a lively and vibrant spot that’s worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for a place with great atmosphere and friendly service. We stopped by after a concert at Scotiabank Arena around midnight, and despite the busy crowd, they managed to accommodate our group of eight without any issue, which was impressive.

The vibe and décor of the restaurant stood out immediately. It has a cozy, rustic charm with a modern twist that makes it feel welcoming and stylish. The lighting, seating arrangements, and overall cleanliness added to the positive impression, it’s clearly a well-maintained and thoughtfully designed space.

The staff were another highlight of our visit. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and upbeat, even with the late-night rush. Their professionalism and cheerful attitude made the experience even more enjoyable.

However, I have to admit that the food was just average. While the menu offered plenty of options, the quality didn’t quite live up to the ambiance. The flavors were okay but not exceptional, and it left me wishing for a bit more in terms of taste and presentation.

As for the drinks, the draft beer was disappointing. It lacked the depth and richness I usually expect, and the alcohol content felt underwhelming, which was a letdown considering their extensive beer menu.

Overall, The Loose Moose is a great place for the atmosphere and service, but the food and drinks could use some improvement to match the rest of...

Good food & nice place for a social hang ✨

• 🍻 Food • We got sweet potato fries & nachos to share along with drinks and they both tasted good. Well seasoned and warm.

The hot brownie with ice cream and peanuts was sooo good 🤤. I WILL DEFO COME BACK FOR THIS Y'ALL!!! (This item was not on the menu & I had to check with the server) • 📜 Menu • Available online & inside. Standard bar grill menu style with burgers, sides, and surprisingly nice salad/bowls options catering to vegan & vegetarians as well. • ✳️ Atmosphere • So this place was the one downstairs. They have a bar with amazing decor (see images) with some fun car plates and jokes! Their bathrooms were well maintained as well. • 👩🏻‍🍳 Service • Long bar tables that were shared with another group on one end during busy hours (4 people).

Our server was friendly, & helpful. She answered all our questions, got us an item off the menu, and removed an item from our bill that was not to our liking. • 💲Cost • I'd say the price:portion ratio was good. Expect to pay 20-30$ per person (incl. taxes & tips). • 🇨🇦 Location • Situated in the prime location downtown just 5 min walk from Union Station, Scotiabank Arena, and CN Tower! If you're a tourist looking for a bar to watch the game, hang out with folks or just grab a drink and snacks, I'd...

Visited The Loose Moose recently and had a pretty good experience overall. The place has a lively and energetic atmosphere — perfect for a casual night out with friends. The ambience was excellent, with a rustic pub-style vibe, great music, and a welcoming crowd. It’s the kind of spot that feels vibrant without being overwhelming. I ordered the Calamari and Nachos to start with. The nachos were definitely the highlight — served in a good portion size, well-layered with cheese, toppings, and accompanied by fresh dips. They were crisp, flavorful, and great for sharing. The calamari, however, was disappointing. It came out as small fried rings, and the portion felt underwhelming for the price. It lacked the texture and flavor you'd expect from a good calamari dish. Honestly, it felt like a bit of a waste of money, especially when compared to the quality of other items on the menu. That said, the service was fantastic — the staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to check in and bring everything out in good time. It really helped elevate the overall experience. If you’re going for the vibe, drinks, and pub classics like nachos or wings, Loose Moose is a solid pick. Just be mindful when trying some of the smaller appetizer items. I’d still recommend it and would definitely return to explore more of the menu.
