Went here for a Friday night dinner reservation, though it turned out the place was pretty empty. We probably didn’t need to book in advance. After being seated, we were only given the regular menus and had to specifically ask for the Summerlicious dinner menu, even though they confirmed they were offering it. That felt a bit off. You’d expect them to promote it upfront. They started us off with warm-ish bread and butter. Bread is one of those small but telling details. It’s your first impression of the meal, yet so many places seem to treat it as an afterthought. This one didn’t stand out. For the appetizer, I had the Bouillabaisse. It was okay, but it barely had any actual broth — and Bouillabaisse is a soup, after all. The calamari in it was also bland and needed more seasoning overall. For the main course, I went with the Surf and Turf. It was fine. I asked for the steak rare and it was cooked properly, which I appreciated. The scallops, however, were unusually small - not sure why they chose that type. They also placed a sprig of thyme on top as a garnish, which felt a bit unrefined since it wasn’t integrated into the dish and didn’t add much. For dessert, I had the chocolate raspberry tartufo. It was just okay. Nothing memorable, more like something to check the dessert box. I also tried the sorbet, which tasted a lot like a basic popsicle. All in all, the food didn’t leave much of an impression. I wouldn’t come back for the food alone. I don’t think the cost is appropriate for what I got.

Came here Saturday night and booked a reservation surprisingly there was many spots available. I was recommended it by my brother who told me his boss always takes him here and it's one of his faves and he's a Italian himself. We were promptly greeted and seated even though we were 30mins early from our reservation! For starters we got the shrimp and grilled squid, this dish was really good. For mains we got the fettuccine salmon and bolognese fettuccine. Both these dishes were also very good but me and my bf agrees that the salmon one was better because we both love cream sauce, but also there it was more tasty. Last but not least, we ordered tiramisu for our dessert and it was delicious! Overall, had a wonderful experience, service was also very good and prompt. As soon as they see an empty dish, they will take it away! Had a little bit of a hiccup as a server didn't know how to use a gift card and know if they "accept" them and had to ask her manager if they accept gift card... even tho it was their own business' "la fenice" gift card which my bro gave to me as a gift, which I thought was weird and turned off by.

Incredible Italian food with such fresh and simple but high quality ingredients. My family and I were blown away by how good the food was, and Shayan, our server (apologies if I misspelled his name!!) was SUPER helpful and kind - really made our experience here that much better. We got the lentil soup and buffalo caprese for starters which I forgot to take pictures of because we were so busy eating and it was SO good. The lentil soup was delicious and the buffalo mozzarella was soft and wonderful. For lunch we got linguini with clams + wine sauce, fettuccine with salmon, and seafood risotto. All were incredible choices and I highly recommend every dish. Thank you so much for having us, and thanks again to Shayan for serving us. I can tell that you guys are passionate about what you do because you read and comment on every single review, and that's what actually made me want to come here and try this place. I can't speak enough good words about La Fenice but I hope this is enough. I'll definitely be back (and might even get the linguini with clams again, UGH) :)

Friends and I made several orders over the phone as they turned off their uber eats. When we went to pick it up (using prices from the menu on their website) the pesto was 6$ more than what was on their website plus the additional $7 for chicken I added which was gross, dry and tasteless. The pasta was pretty good though. The Buffalo mozzarella was not great and was $2 more than on their website. When the price discrepancy was questioned (as another one in the party experienced the same) we were met with hostility. I asked twice once I was told because it was "skip the dishes" even though it was right on their website?! The waitress refused to look at my phone screen. Then the second time she said she "doesn't want to deal with it" and handed us over to what seemed to be a manager. Who then proceeded to tell us he didn't appreciate our attitude. He also told my friend that for some reason "a $2 dollar difference seems to be an issue" in a sarcastic tone?! Lol it's the principle buddy. Anyways it's too bad I told them I was looking forward to eating there but this experience turned myself off from ever eating there again and the 5 other women. This was my suggestion to eat here as they were visiting from other parts of the city. This embarrassed me I regret my suggestion. I would not recommend this experience to anyone and so many better places to go in the area who doesn't change the price at their whim or treats you disrespectfully because you question the discrepancy in pricing. Too bad you lost a life long neighbourhood customer and will share this experience with my network in the...

Went on Saturday 28 Sept prior to show at Royal Alexandra Theatre for dinner without reservation around 6pm, plenty of tables were available and we were seated right away.

Halfway through our bottle of wine and our delicious meal we made sure to ask our waiter if we were good on time for his reservation schedule and he told us it was no problem to take our time to enjoy our meal, he had taken care of the scheduling.

The bus boy came to tell us 10min before 7pm if we knew we had to vacate our table for incoming reservation which btw never arrived while we were there. Had to gulp the remaining half of our $62 bottle of wine and quickly finish our meal for 7pm.

I'm rating service as low due to the bus boy rushing us even though our waiter (which was super nice btw) told us we were fine. It's not exactly nice to be pushed out the door when you spend $218.32 on a nice dinner date with your spouse on a Saturday night. I still paid 30% gratuity because our waiter was actually exemplary compared to poor customer service from the bus boy (which oddly is the one that came with the Interac machine for prompt payment)

Management definitely needs to address this behaviour as I am sure this is not what you do on a regular basis for service. We were told we could have a table and we were rushed out the door by this bus boy)

Our waiter was...
