The place is called Melt and Dip. Which already sounds like something you’d whisper to a bag of Doritos at 3am.

Let’s be honest—this isn’t food. It’s good sex disguised as dessert. It’s the kind of thing you eat after the world goes to sleep and you are addressing a craving in a quiet kitchen lit by the lights of the night streets.

And man, do they deliver.

The munchies here are divine. The Lotus crepe? Whoever crafted that needs to be knighted in Nutella and declared the Minister of Midnight Miracles. It’s not a dish, it’s a religious experience. One bite in and I was questioning my life choices—in a good way for once.

But then you look at the receipt with a pain that can only be seconded by a swift kick to the nuts.

Twenty dollars. For a crepe.

Now I’m all for indulgence. But $20? That’s not just overpriced—it’s spiritual robbery. That’s “I have no insurance but I do have a sweet tooth” kind of reckless.

And the worst part? They know exactly who they’re charging. Stoners. Students. Sad people in sweatpants looking for salvation in sugar and chocolate.

There’s something philosophically off about gouging the vulnerable. It’s like charging extra for air in a panic room.

Still… you’ll go. You’ll sit there, dipped in shame and chocolate, and you’ll love every second of it.

Because Melt and Dip may be a capitalist fever dream. But damn if it doesn’t taste like heaven with a side...

My Wife & I stopped in during a late night walk. I had a Hot Cocoa & my wife had a scoop of cookies n creme gelato. They were both awesome!

The place is very quaint & the ambience great. The Service was outstanding too. Friendly, personable & informative. I’m not going to disparage the 4 negative Google reviews written here as everyone has a right to their own educated opinions.

BUT from my personal experience I believe they are totally unfounded. The Service was exceptional from beginning to end. I’ll definitely be back to try the waffles & crepes next! 💯

Update January 2021:

Wife and I recently stopped in to try Melt n Dip Crepes and Gelato Ice cream. Both were simply scrumptious. The Crepe was def one of the BEST I have ever had tbh. Outstanding! & HUGE! The Gelato was also very good and they have many selections to choose from. My fave is the Nutella. The Wife loves Cookies n Creme. You will not go wrong. Trust me! Service again was on point with their Super Friendly/helpful staff. Looking forward to dining in during the upcoming summer months and when COVID19 is finally a distant memory....🙏

Update July 2024:

Great service again. BEST HOT...

A Chocolate Lover’s Paradise!

Melt and Dip is hands down the best chocolate spot in Toronto! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the rich aroma of premium chocolate and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Their menu is packed with decadent options, from creamy fondue to mouthwatering crepes and waffles, all generously drizzled with their signature chocolate.

The quality of the chocolate is outstanding—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure every visit feels special. Whether you're a die-hard chocolate lover or just looking for a sweet treat, this place is a must-visit!

Highly recommend the chocolate-dipped strawberries and their signature Belgian waffle. Absolutely divine! I’ll definitely be coming...

Went at around 9:30 PM based on reviews and being around the area Location is great, their menu has a lot options and variety, their staff is nice and friendly, their branding and general idea are great. Food is of poor quality starting with the choice of ice cream and grocery store products. I got a dessert with old generic two bite brownies, noticeably stale and impossible to eat marshmallows and eclairs, and canned fruit. The only thing that I felt safe to eat was the banana. Moreover, they use weak cardboard plates and plastic utensils to dine in. The place also needs some cleaning and upgrades. The chairs and booths are all broken and have holes all over .

This is an exceptional desert spot! The quality is top notch and the atmosphere is nice too. I tried out the pistachio waffles with ice cream and it was delicious. Although the serving sizes are small compared to the price you are paying, it had good quality ingredients and came out very fast. This place is usually packed on weekends and especially evenings, so I do suggest coming here on weekdays. I also love the gelato here, its priced well and they have a vast variety of flavors to choose from. There are some very unique things on the menu here that you can't find elsewhere, so I would suggest scanning through the huge menu and selecting something unique!

Apparently they recently moved locations and it’s all so much better now. Bigger seating area and the menu is more comprehensive. At the old location, the menu was more limited compared to other locations like Burlington but this new one now has the complete menu. We had the pistachio waffle and it was scrumptious. The pistachio paste on it was delicious. This waffle is big enough to be shared by 2 to 3 people easily. We also bought the Dubai chocolate bar which was very tasty. Staff were also very friendly. I wasn’t a huge fan of the old Toronto location mainly because of the limited space and menu, but I’ll definitely return to this new one!
