Worst customer experience I’ve ever had.

I’ve never been one to complain about this before. We all have bad days- I get it. But whoever was working the King St location on July 26, ~11pm gave me such a bad experience I’ll never forget it.

After mentioning my order (which was TWO rice plates and ONE fry plate) 3 times he walked around like a chicken without a head, putting 2 orders of fries into the fryer.

After trying to explain to him that it appears he put 2 orders of fries down despite me only ordering one, he then repeated “you ordered two fries”. After clarifying that I did infact say rice he said “sorry man I already put it in… I don’t wanna waste an order”.

After trying to reconcile with him, he simply REFUSED service unless I accepted the 2 fry orders, as opposed to the order I actually made.

His best suggestion was that my girlfriend get the fry order so I wouldn’t have to walk out with 2. I couldn’t believe my EYES.

Then when paying he said, once again, “sorry bro thanks” then I paid $50 to eat two portions of the same meal and left. Absolutely unbelievable.

I used to frequent this location but this poor interaction turned me off the chain entirely. I will not be going back, there are too many alternatives that actually care about the customer receiving the order...

Probably the worst shawarma I've had since before the pandemic started. I'm angry that I paid $15 after tax for this meal.

The chicken was chewy and full of massive pieces of fat (it came out of a tray and not directly off the spit, which wasn't being used for chicken or beef/lamb), with burnt pieces scraped off the cooking surface put in with it. I had to spit out almost every other bite. Sauces on top weren't anything special. Salad was a bit of iceberg lettuce and a tiny piece of tomato or two, with some bitter olives included - closer to a greek salad than anything else, but even saying that is stretching it. The potatoes and rice were fine, but that's the bare minimum.

Most places give you hummus, toum, or something on the side to add to the flavours, but I didn't get any of that. I guess that's where the "Lite" part come in...

A coworker had a different experience, so maybe I could try this place again in the future, but it's definitely going to take a while for me to forget the memory of this...

I am a big fan of shawarma and even of Pita Lite locations, however this one has disappointed a few too many times for me; this weekend being perhaps the final straw. I ordered from Uber Eats, making it an expensive order (partially thanks to UE fees) - but a very clear and simple order. There are a handful of toppings I don't like and opt not to order - every single one was on my plate when it showed up. I had ordered a large chicken shawarma plate and an extra side of chicken so that I could save some rice and salad for the next day. However, it all went in the garbage. The chicken was not properly cooked - there was tons of flabby bits of unrendered chicken fat (or skin? or both?) that made it a disgusting experience. The chicken part of a chicken shawarma is the most important part and after that experience... I don't think I'll be eating it...

Chicken shawarma from Pita lite. Love the way their meats are cut and heated to order, and the topping ingredients are also freshly added, nothing is frozen/pre-made! Basically, you can get your shawarmas exactly how you want them. There are a bunch of Pita Lite locations in and around Toronto, but the one on King West is where I've been to a few times now. The fries are possibly the one hindrance to this place. They taste good, no argument there. But as this place is a sort of balance between fast-food and a sit-down restauraunt, its difficult to determine a reasonable wait time. The shawarmas can be made quite quickly, but if you order fries they are deep-fried to order. This is usually a plus/benefit, but they take much longer to prepare then the wrap so the wrap can almost because colder due to the difference in wait time.

A nice spot on King Street with a small seating space, amazing food prices, and very good quality food. Parking is on the side streets, and they are mostly paid, but this isn't a place where you drive to eat with friends. It's a great spot for people downtown where they work. The lady who took my order was very polite, explained the different between the 9.99 shawarma plate with rice and the regular one which essentially boils down to no salad with the 9.99$ special. The food quantity is very decent, I barely finished the entire plate in one go. I have added pictures for details on the 9.99$ offer. Overall an amazing experience. Definitely recommend this place for budget meals and otherwise.

Ok, here's the thing. I am from Mexico, and ever since I live in Canada shawarmas are my new "taquitos al pastor" (a very Mexican thing you find in every corner). I've tried countless shawarma places, but this Pita Lite is my FAVORITE. It never let's you down. You should definitely try the chicken shawarma laffa, it might be a little bit big if you don't eat that much (check the picture), but you can save it for dinner!!!! Everyone should try it once in a lifetime ❤ I hope this review helps you 😁
