Queen St. Warehouse — Restaurant in Toronto

Unsure where to place my rating here as I had a mixed experience. When I walked in I stood at the door for about 5 minutes before the bartender acknowledged me thankfully and let me know someone would be around shortly. The girl that sat me at the door was lovely and accommodating wearing a maple leafs jersey, very delightful person and is the whole reason I didn’t want to leave this review at all, but unfortunately my server wasn’t as lovely as the night went on.

Initially when I was sat I was left sitting there for quite some time as I noticed this server going to tables that had been sat after me still me sitting there with not even water or a greeting. I honestly ignored this and chalked it up to a miscommunication or being busy as I myself work in the industry, but it wasn’t a great start. I was there waiting for someone to meet to for a business conversation so I ended up sitting there in total for about 3 hours, during these 3 hours I had 3 drinks. Hour and a half of the time was waiting for my guest and then an hour and a half of talking and planning work. From the beginning of my 3 hour stay the server, was pleasant but as the night went on I’m not too sure what happened. When I asked for my bill she came over with a machine and said cash or credit, I said card- debit, she responded with ‘it’s only credit I told you this at this door’ in a very rude and snarky way. I said oh no I wasn’t told and she ever so rudely said ‘you were told, we have an atm’ with a nasty look on her face she turned around and walked away before I could even get a word out. I had to yell after her asking where the atm was. At this moment it was solidified she would not be receiving a tip which is something I’ve probably only felt obligated to do twice in my life. Not only was I not notified about this credit or cash rule which is something someone should apologize to me for not be rude to me about- but she didn’t greet me at the door I was waiting at the door, and waiting at my table for service as I watched her serve many others first but additionally I wasn’t rude I was understanding and was just communicating I didn’t know. I got money out of the the atm, my bill was $49 I left $50, after paying I went to the bathroom and I’m not sure why she was seated at a booth hanging out rather than working which is an incredibly unprofessional look- but while I was in the bathroom she very loudly exclaimed that she didn’t think I even gave her enough money to which whomever was in the booth responded telling her ‘it’s ok’ to make her be quiet I’m sure.

My only assumption as to this behaviour due to the unprofessional turn and aggressive attitude her inability to control her volume or mouth, or count money when it’s handed to her would be drinking on the job. She seemed a different person than the start of the experience and I felt incredibly disrespected by this girl.

If I ever return as the rest of my experience was as ok the hostess was lovely and the drinks were good I hope she is sober and trained in customer service better. Otherwise I may have to just turn and...

My partner and I always liked coming here when we stop in Toronto. This visit though was very disappointing. It was a busy game night. We expected to have to wait for a few things, however we did not expect the service and the attitude given by our waitress. First off when we finally got our food we got no cutlery. We asked the table runner who gave us our food for cutlery and was told that wasn't their problem we need to check in with our server. Which I thought was very dismissive. We continued trying to get the attention of our server waving and really being ignored. I had to physically get up and ask our server for cutlery. By the time she bought it our food was cold and when she did bring the cutlery is was dropped onto the table abruptly. She did not ask if we needed anything else. We felt very neglected the entire night. We had ordered drinks and was waiting almost an hour for them. The wait and service was so bad the other table next to us got up and walked out. The whole night could have been salvaged if she just checked in with us. We were livid at this point and by the time the drinks came out we did not want them anymore so we asked for the bill. FINALLY our server is paying attention to us just because we no longer want the drinks. She finally asks what was wrong which we did not even get to explain because she goes right into explaining how busy it is and how she's trying and it's not her fault. At this point we no longer cared about the excuses and was told it's their policy to pay for drinks if it has been made. We said we are not paying for the drinks and she proceeds to say"should I get my Manager" like a threat. Without missing a beat my partner says gladly because however the rest of the night was going to go we will not be paying for these drinks. She left and came back and got us the bill. We guess the manager didn't want to speak with us. We really wanted to speak to a manager because the service was Horrid! Our server was very rude up to the end saying here pushing the payment machine in my partners face. We asked for an itemized receipt making sure we did not pay for the drinks. We were so disappointed. This used to be our favorite place. I wish we got our servers name because she was very rude and neglectful from beginning to end. We don't care how busy it was, she could have explained from the beginning in a gracious manner that it's busy and it may take some time and checking in from time to time. Literally only saw our server when we got our menus to the cutlery and when she was trying to make us pay for drinks we no longer wanted. We will not...

First of all, I have nothing to say but a HORRIBLE experience! I can’t believe so many incidents occurred this happened yet there was no reconsiderations in the mistakes. My family was visiting in town so I took them to this location so we can have more chill and laid back experience. We were served with no complimentary water after 40 minutes. They gave us desserts first following with our main meal dishes like what?? Mind you, the ice cream were melting and donuts were cold by the time we finished with our meal. We couldn’t even eat our desserts. We requested chicken pasta but gave us chicken sandwich which is totally exceptional but claimed the chef read it wrong. I think it’s more so improve your handwriting so nobody can take a mistake that way?? I’ve seen it on my own eyes, it was scribbling. If the order taking was taken digitally, the mistakes can be look upon on the system. The waiter kept switching so we did not know who to address or inform our concerns. The original waiter said she will get us new donuts and after we ate, we were ready to get new donuts and she quickly changed her point by saying she will take these donuts and heat them? Mind you it was 3 orders of donuts so this was about over 20 cold mini donuts I’m talking about. I was deep down so disappointed and frustrated. I saw the expression on the waiter face and she knows that we know she’s switching up the story and ugh it was so embarrassing for the waiter, I’m sure. When we got our chicken pasta as we wanted originally, there was no chicken?? The water pitcher was not looked upon and filled. My friend and I kept the concern to ourselves and we can understand sometimes people can have bad day or those exhausted feeling however the service was beyond HORRIBLE and please don’t go here if you are trying to have good experience especially when trying to show this restaurant to others🫤 DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE TO BE...
