This place is conveniently near work connected to the path and king subway station. However, as an Indian that gets takeout all over the city, I will say the chicken is HELLA dry. I’ve come here twice now and had the same experience. The chicken is just SO DRY it needs to be chopped into smaller pieces and marinated longer. Additionally, it looks like a lot of curry until you get to the middle and it’s all rice…the excess rice combined with the dry chicken makes it hard to eat. Please add more curry and less rice! Other than these 2 comments, the flavour is AMAZING and authentic, and staff is super nice! Cant wait to try your chai and lassi

A perfect indian lunch spot that was lacking in the business district. What an amazing selection of curries veg/non-veg both. The staff let me try the curries before buying. From the price point of view, it’s decently priced and doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. The curries are already made, kept in hot tub & ready to go. It is indeed like an “indian canteen” in it’s true sense. Kudos to the owners. Keep it up!

The Indian Canteen is located in the lower level food court of an office complex. The vegetarian platter (CA$20.99 plus tax) comes with 3 dishes and rice. The curries are adequately spiced but the portions could be more generous, given the price. The naan is freshly made.

Jaspreet is one of the kindest, warmest and most hospitable in this concourse who always has her smiles ready when i come to entertain myself with their varieties of good Indian cuisine. I love that she introduces me different types and love the veggie korma on Thursdays. I will go see her to order again this Thursday after i just bought 2 for takeout today. Love the sauce in everything including the famous butter chicken. Say Hi to Jaspreet and you will be delighted to see her smiles and buy their stuffs! Delicious! UPDATE: Today is Thursday and i hurriedly rushed to buy my favorite veggie korma and thanks to Jaspreet again for reserving some good items for me at the last minute. Her boss, the cook himself, is equally accommodating and he sure knows how to cook authentic food with the flavor so mesmerizing. Love the food :) Come try for...

I tried a lot of indian spots in Toronto, and Indian Canteen is up there with some of the best Indian food I have had!! It's a perfect lunch spot for anyone working around the area. I have tried Chilli chicken and chicken 65, and it's some of the tastiest chicken I have had!! Perfect balance of spicy and tasty.

And I would like to thank Jasvir for guiding me through the different options!! She was very friendly and offered me a bite from one of the chicken options to see if I like it or not. She also made me aware of a great deal, more-value...
