We ate at this restaurant on my birthday on July 1 and had a great time. The service is A+. The food is A+. Everything = A+. It's a cozy, quiet restaurant, which I loved. The two ladies who served us were so nice and attentive. And the food? AMAZING! I loved everything I ate. The chicken curry was superb. The lamb biryani was fantastic. And the shrimp-something (cajun dry-rubbed shrimp or something) was impeccable. The shrimps/prawns were so big and tasty. You really get your money's worth eating here. And then there's the naan bread, which is just - omg - the best naan bread I've ever had in my life. It was soft and had a nice texture. Most store-bought naan breads become hard minutes after microwaving them but these naan breads retained their hotness and texture throughout our meal. As someone who does not like salty food, I also appreciate that you did not load the food with salt. The two or three times I tried Indian food (mostly from mall food-courts) I couldn't eat them b/c I found them, especially the meats, too salty, but that's not the case with this restaurant, so thank you for not loading your food with a gallon of salt. The chefs cooking the food are doing an excellent job. Honestly, this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I don't have any negative thing to say about this place because there's none. If you're looking for delicious, perfectly-cooked and fresh Indian food, and a quiet, cozy atmosphere to eat, this is it. When next I'm in Toronto, this is the only restaurant...
Read moreI felt compelled to write a review because the food at this place was truly terrible. I got takeout from here because it was the closest Indian place to my hotel with decent reviews. I was really looking forward to the food after a long day. Specially the lachha paratha. I was sadly extremely disappointed. I had gotten the chicken Kashmiri korma, dal makhni, butter naan and lachha paratha. The quantities were more than generous and the food was hot. But the good part ends there. All of it completely lacked flavor. I do not understand how they managed to make the dal super spicy and completely flavorless at the same time. The chicken was just ok, kind of sweet but also completely lacking flavor. The most disappointing were the breads. The butter naan was rubbery. They had either overkneaded the dough or kept it frozen or both. But the worst thing was the paratha. I don’t think whoever runs this restaurant knows what a lachha paratha is. They took that same rubbery naan and fried it with some spices to call it lachha paratha. No layers, no flakiness, not even the right kind of dough. The prices at this place are not cheap. To serve such atrocities in the name of Indian food is a shame. I have a hard time wasting food. So, I put the generous amounts of leftovers in the fridge but I don’t think I can bring myself to eat this again. It...
Read moreThis place was clean and delicious, the food took a bit to come out, but perhaps it was because we were a large party and they did forget some items. Our waitresses were kind and attentive. The food was so good and great portions.
However we didn’t eat family style and they put everyone’s naan in the same basket making it confusing and missed someone’s, we had to keep asking for it and they said it was in the order of the main basket but we didn’t get it, so we asked our main server and she was so kind she brought one out asap.
Somethings that I didn’t love was that they asked us what kind of naan and rice we wanted implying that it came with the dish. With the way they asked you would think they were included. Happy to pay for them, as needed, but guest should know that they are not included with the items. The mens toilet did not have a seat either, it was completely removed
Over super satisfied with our food and we would...
