Well, I wanted to like this place. Cool space and good location in town, but... the draw was the arcade and games for our son. The main space is ok. But a few minutes in and the flaws start to show. Firstly, the arcade is sad and dirty. Basically a long room of 80s b-side games. Our gamer son had no interest in any of them and we are arcade regulars. There was a dusty pile of lego on a table which he played with briefly. We washed our hands before eating. The food was not bad but not great. Some of the prices are nuts. Many dishes are $30+. The service was polite but minimal. We had to go grab our own condiments and we were done eating by the time they came by to check on us. When I asked for the wifi password I was told "its been discontinued". Lastly, the main room has pool tables and air hockey. The air hockey barely works and doesn't keep score. The waitress had to lift the metal end plates to release the puck. The puck bately could glide so my son lost interest and we left before finishing a game. Overall it seems the place may have been worthwhile years ago but is now a sad overpriced smalltown eatery. We won't be back.

Great place, deceptively large (stretches back to pool tables and games for those interested). We were chasing poutine after sampling it on the ferry over and loving it! We went for a mix of plates to share (see picture), aforementioned poutine, Korean chicken, fried pickles, clam chowder (we wanted to compare to our first one we had on the Oregon coast). This was washed down with a lovely local IPA and a tasty bloody Mary (designated driver on diet pepsi). The clam chowder wasn't as good HOWEVER it was very reasonably priced and was tasty. The poutine was hearty and generous. Pickles were spot on, nice and chunky with a good bite on the crunch (as was the chicken). Servings were large enough to require a take out box. Overall a lovely, tasty, well hosted experience!

We visited this place twice in a road on our two day stay in Ucluelet! The first day we got fish and chips, chowder and elk burger, the food was tasty, fresh and quick considering how bussy it was! We came back the second day just for drinks and to enjoy the pool tables and arcade games and we got wings and salad to take out. Both days the service was great, friendly, attentive, we got a lot of local tips about the area. Theatmosphere is just great! We had so much fun both days! We are planning to come back just to visit this place again!

This restaurant single-handedly managed to ruin an otherwise perfect day on the west coast as our experience kept worsening as the night progressed.

After an initial long wait to be seated (in which time we saw other waiting patrons make the decision to just turn around and leave), our order of simple veggie burgers took 45+ min to arrive. It was surprising because in our time sitting there we didn’t see the kitchen bring out much in the way of food orders at all and nobody had been seated before us in all the time when we had waited to be seated, or after us, so no new customers for the total 90 min period except for just us, no major orders from the existing customers that we witnessed being served, along with the menu being very limited (they seemed to have a much smaller menu than what is listed online with only fried chicken dishes and burgers) - so I enquired of the wait staff if there was a reason that the kitchen felt slightly slow today and was informed that they have a lot of take out orders. I guess they don’t prioritize dine in guests despite the decor looking inviting. Thereafter, the same wait staff member came back to the table with our order receipt to correct me that our wait time was infact 10 min less than what I suggested it was as per when they rung up our order. That was the only reason she visited our table - to curtly inform us that we were 10 min off in our polite enquiry as to kitchen business (and ignoring the fact that order ring up time can be different from when it was taken…) and then left. I was visiting with my elderly parents and we were appalled by the rudeness of the staff. Unfortunately, were had limited options at that point but the food that eventually came out sat heavy in our bellies. Towards the end of the night, the staff turned up the music to blaring levels to accommodate some partying guests and it was the final straw on a very miserable night. Would not recommend this restaurant unless somebody has no other choice. And I am surprised and saddened by the uncalled rudeness that we experienced which was out of place for any civil discourse, never mind a place where service should be prided on. They have a signage at the front that jokes that you can expect to receive two of three kinds of service — good, fast or cheap. They ran out of all three tonight, along...

We have been to howlers now twice. Once in October and once this evening. Both times the food was exceptional! Hot & tasty. However both times we have left with not so pleasant experiences with the service. Tonight after our food was brought out we waved our server down as I realized something was incorrect with my order, not a super big deal just missing some yam fries. She said she’d fix it, however after this did not return to our table at all. We witnessed the server chatting with someone else at the bar multiple times however she did not return to our table once for the remainder of the evening. Another server finally came to our table a half hour later to ask me if I needed anything, at this point waiting for an order of yam fries was not worth it when we were done eating the rest of our meal so we just asked for another drink. We asked for a to go box which was never brought over either. When my husband approached the counter to get our bill because at this point we hadn’t seen our server in over an hour, the lady at the bar was quite rude and said “as you can see we are busy so you’ll have to wait.”

I can absolutely appreciate being busy, as I’ve worked in the service industry however, the fact we witnessed our server leaned up against the bar chatting with someone repeatedly, there was maybe a maximum of 12 tables to 3 servers, and it had been over an hour with no check in from our server…. Quite unimpressed. My husband wound up leaving ahead of me with our daughter as I still needed to wait for a to go box which then when I asked at the bar for it the same lady then gave me an attitude for asking for a to go box? For a bill of over $95, I’m less than impressed and will not be returning which is a shame with the fact the food is good quality.

We had a very similar experience in October, wanted to give it a second chance but have left with a very bad impression of how the servers treat customers when it’s “busy” Thumbs up and rave to the girl with pink hair who seemed to be the only one actually serving...

Jessica the weitress... turned off the computer game on my 8 years old boy while he was playing... and said on a very rude tone " DON'T TURN THE GAME BACK ON"... Wow...really???

After going back and forth to Victoria for some paperwork...I was stopped at the construction site on the road for 30 min. At 8:30 pm... My kids and husband checked on this restaurant that it would be open until 10 pm. They wanted to go all day...waiting for me..we finally made it.. but we arrived at 9:30 pm.

We were not allowed to sit because at this time was just take out We ordered and asked Jessica to please charge us 50c extra so she can share 2 coins with the kids to use the equipment to play while waiting for the food... She placed the order...and once the machine opened with all the coins..she closed it back and said "we can not give change..and we are turning off the equipment now"... She went to the back where other kids were playing computers...some people playing pool table..some people still eating/drinking at their tables....but she turned off the computers not in used...

We were waiting for the food...the kids asking for a coin...we found a 2$... I went to the front and this boy there...I told him that many people were still eating and playing..to please change the coin and turn on the computer for the kids to play.. it wasn't 10 pm yet... He did.

He gave us many coins...and turned on one computer.

Kids would have turns...

My 8 years old put his coin...was very excited...started to play ..

When Jessica came with attitude .. disconnected the equipment and very rude stated "DO NOT TURN THE EQUIPMENT BACK ON!"

WHICH KIND OF HUMAN BEING DOES THIS??? TOO RUDE...SHOCKING.

I did report this to management. But sincerely... If you don't like your job... Don't ruin the enjoyment of the ones going to get food and have fun with kids during vacations...during working hours!!! The restaurant is open until 10 pm!!!. Until then...we should be allowed to use the games... And have a nice waiting...
