It was very disappointing experience here. Many of my friends recommended me to visit here because the food was so good and price was reasonable. Me, my husband(Canadian), and his friend(Korean-Canadian) visited here a few weeks ago, and we were very excite to try new KBBQ downtown. However, my dreams was broken by their service......
A serve received our order, but drinks were not served until main dished were served. We asked them if we can get our drinks, she said, "I'll check it" but didn't come until we asked them two more times. (We ordered one pitcher and a diet coke) When a server served side dishes, she found out a hair on a kimchi, so she took it back to a serving plate right away, and said, "I'll get another one" and she dropped one lettuce while she was serving and she took it back as well. She brought a new kimchi (hopefully, it's new), but not a lettuce. We paid it for $4. "How about lettuce?" I asked her. "Oh, do you want it? I'll bring it" Our drinks still were served. Asked again. Potato salad, one of the side dishes, were too sour. It tasted almost gone bad. Finally, got our drinks. All BBQs were too salty. No one asked us if food and everything is ok while we were eating. They were not busy, they were just standing up and chatting each other. Asked them the bill. They marked 2 cokes, we ordered only one and it served so late.
Despite your fault, I didn't feel that you sincerely...
Read moreI came here for the first time for my birthday with 8 of my friends. The food was incredible, as a Korean myself it tasted exactly like BBQ in Korea. I would highly recommend the large party combo if you are coming in large groups, it was more than enough to feed all of us and once the bill was split, it was quite more affordable than I expected (approx. $35 per person).
The look and atmosphere of the restaurant was also very, very similar to barbecue restaurants in Korea. The seats are comfortable and the tables are large enough to fit all of the various dishes we got.
The service, in my opinion, was the best service I've received at a Korean BBQ place in Vancouver. We went on a very busy Friday night, but we were still taken care of very well. The staff would come to our table within seconds of pressing the button on our table, and accomodated all of our needs. They brought out extra side dishes very quickly when we requested it and replaced the grill-tops frequently throughout our meal.
Overall, this is my new favourite KBBQ restaurant in Vancouver. No other place comes close to the food quality, service and feel of Chosun, not only that but it's not too expensive. I would...
Read moreI do not understand all the good reviews! We went for the lunch menu, which was $30 for one person! We asked if we could share and they said it wouldn't be enough (which was true), so we added a black bean noodles.
Black bean noodles honestly did not really taste like regular jajangmyun, but it was okay. Meat was yummy in the sauce and soft, but the amount that came out was very little. If you were to just order jajangmyun for one as a meal it wouldnt be enough.
We had the komtang/gomtang, it was so bland, zero flavor. How? You would think they'd have awesome bones to make it out of. I put the salt from the BBQ dipping sauce to try to help, but there was zero flavors. It also came with noodles instead of rice, so you ended up with no rice for the BBQ item either.
We ordered the premium beef rib option on the lunch menu and it was terrible. The marinate was way too sweet, too much honey and apple. I literally tried to wash the marinate off in the gomtang, but it didn't help.
The side dishes were fine, a bit bland but not terrible.
Overall terrible food with an expensive price tag to boot. Very disappointed and...
