The Chickadee Room — Restaurant in Vancouver

Previously Juke Fried chicken, They decided to divide the restaurant into 2 parts, having a more "fast food like" Juke Fried Chicken and a more cocktails bar on The Chickadee Room.

Went there with my gf on Sept 2nd, a Saturday night. We had 2 cocktails each and we ate several dishes of their "late night" menu. We were accommodated quickly and there was no many people there. Music is loud and light is dim.

Cocktails were fine but worse than I expected. Been there before when it was called juke Fried chicken and the cocktails were better. I would say it's a good place to wait for Keefer bar XD

My problem this time was with the food. We ordered the fried chicken expecting to have some chicken from their sister restaurant and the waitress said "The chicken comes cold, is that ok?", as I wasn't sure what to expect, I said, "Sure...". Oh well, these people are selling literally Juke fried chicken leftovers that they put in the fridge and give it to you straight, no heating no any preparation and at the same price as freshly made fried chicken. This is OUTRAGEOUS. DISGUSTING idea.

Cocktails, fine....

I think we can all agree these are difficult times for the restaurant industry, so I commend the team at Juke for acting quickly to adjust their operations. They have installed new decor that also acts as enhanced safety features, but it doesn't affect the overall ambiance. In fact, it feels more intimate, like a speakeasy, which is my favourite vibe at a cocktail bar.

We didn't have a reservation when we arrived, but they were able to offer us a seat for a quick drink. They are operating with reduced table numbers (to meet safety regulations) so we completely understood the time limit.

The most important thing with a cocktail bar is the actual drinks, and the cocktails were OUTSTANDING! Great presentation, balanced flavours.

We are big fans of the food at Juke, so we placed an order to go from the takeout side. It was ready just as we finished our drinks, and we went on our way. Overall an awesome way to kick off an evening!

We plan to return often and recommend that everyone give it a go! It's important to support the local restaurant scene if you want to see your favourites still standing...

Wanted to bring my husband here for a nice quiet meal after work. He had just lost his ID (can't get an appointment until next month to replace it!) but had a photo on his phone of it. Upon entry we showed the staff our vax records and our ID but they said they would only accept his if it was a hard copy. Not the photo. We showed a photo of his passport and his credit card with his name. No. Liquor inspectors are cracking down, they said. (Okay my husband is 30. He doesn't look too young to be drinking.) One of the staff almost let us slide with all this info but another cut her off saying we had to leave. Fine. We went next door to juke to at least grab some takeout. While I was waiting for my order my husband started eating his at a table by the window and the staff from next door came over and ushered us out. Saying we can't be in there without ID either. Which we had! Annoyed to be kicked out after we had paid for their food! Very frustrating. Seemed like they were discriminating...
