I came here with a friend (I am East Indian, my friend is Black) for a night out and we were both racially profiled and treated extremely unfairly. While we were enjoying our drinks, another guest accidentally leaned on one of the unstable tables (note: their tables are not secure—if you put weight on one side, they flip instantly). A bottle and some pitchers spilled onto someone nearby. Instead of ignoring it, my friend and I immediately helped clean up and offered napkins to those affected. Shockingly, the bouncers—Diego and Carlos and another individual which I didn’t get his name unfortunately as he refused to give it—singled us out and kicked us out, even though we weren’t responsible for the spill. As we tried to calmly explain what actually happened, they became increasingly hostile. They even mocked me by pretending not to speak English, refused to listen, and would not refund me for the drinks I had already paid for but never received. I don’t want the restaurant to go under just because of a few bad apples. I really appreciated the atmosphere from the workers behind the bar, who were kind and professional. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff were very aggressive and dismissive, and that ruined the entire experience. This was an awful situation that left us feeling racially profiled and discriminated against. No one should be treated this way, especially when they are only trying to help. I hope management takes this seriously, because this kind of treatment toward paying customers is unacceptable. —————————— Thank you very much for your response. I do appreciate you taking the time to address our concerns and explain your perspective. That said, from the tone of your message it seems the outcome was that myself (an East Indian individual) and my friend (an African Canadian) were the ones isolated and asked to leave — even though we were not the parties responsible for the spilled drinks or the incident with the guest in question. We were simply there to enjoy our evening peacefully, having already spent a couple hundred dollars at your establishment. It’s disappointing to feel that we were removed while the actual individuals involved were not held accountable. I understand the need to prioritize safety, but the result was that two guests who were not escalating anything were asked to leave, which certainly felt unfair. I will share with my friends that your business is responsive, but I also want to be transparent about our experience so others can understand what happened from our side. Regardless, I wish you success in the future and hope your team continues to reflect on how such situations are handled.

I visited Union Latinos Restaurant & Bar in Vancouver with my family, and it was an absolute delight. I had been craving authentic Colombian food, and this place delivered beyond expectations. Their menu features a rich variety of traditional Colombian dishes like Bandeja Paisa, Frijolada, Tamales, Ajiaco, and of course, empanadas as appetizers. We sampled several items, and each one was a hit. The empanadas were perfectly crispy and flavorful, served with a generous portion of hogao, a traditional Colombian tomato and onion sauce, that elevated the taste beautifully. The Ajiaco, a hearty chicken and potato soup, was comforting and impressively close to the version you'd find in Bogotá. The Bandeja Paisa was the star of the meal: a generous platter with grilled beef, chorizo, pork rind, beans, rice, ripe plantain, avocado, and a sunny-side-up egg. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portion size was more than satisfying, definitely come hungry for that one! We also took home tamales for breakfast the next day, and they were absolutely delicious. They reminded us of the Hayaca-style tamales from Colombia, rich in flavor and wrapped in banana leaves. The service was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. One of the staff even lent me a phone charger when I needed it, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and vibrant. The atmosphere is lively with Colombian and Latin music playing in the background, adding to the authentic vibe. Union Latinos isn’t just a place to eat, it’s a place to feel at home, celebrate culture, and enjoy great food with great people. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true taste of Colombia in Vancouver.

The only Colombian restaurant in Vancouver! 🇨🇴🇨🇦 If it's difficult to start and maintain a business in your own country, I don't imagine how difficult it can be abroad. That is one of the reasons why I am proud of Miguel Potes, a Colombian who dedicated his youth to professional soccer. He is currently an ambassador of Colombian gastronomic culture in Vancouver Canada, with his restaurant Union Latinos food, 100% Colombian food, you can find an Ajiaco, bandeja paisa, a seafood cazuela, or some empanadas, arepas or aborrajados, accompanied by natural juices or a refreshing aguadepanela and I have many more dishes to mention. For a Colombian it should be a pride to support whoever shows the world the gastronomic wealth of our country, just as cultures like the Mexican or Peruvian do, which are proud of their traditions. I recommend the Union Latinos food restaurant if you want to share with your family, friends, or show your co-workers part of our typical dishes. It is a place without any pretense, but which clearly represents our traditions. Thank you Miguel because for the 4 years I have known him I have witnessed his passion and interest in showing the world our deliciousness and the great effort that as the owner of two stores (Surrey and Granville St. in Vancouver) make him a true #colombianoenvancouver El unico restaurante Colombiano en Vancouver!

Hi My name is Eddy i am a foody and self made chef who has worked in High end restaurant. I am also a Sommelier. I have dined in thousands of restaurant around the Globe. Food Trucks, Tapa stands , whole in the wall Mom and Pop restaurants. Lucky enough to meet Antony Bourdain on his Break across the restaurant he worked in at three in the Afternoon Shooting the Breeze. Enough about me . Cam e to Vancouver for Expo 86 for a year never left. Yesterday couple of my friends walked into a Columbian Restaurant by Accident. I met after lunch. Jordan who is very picky about his food wouldn't stop bragging about Union Columbian Restaurant. I was skeptical. So i visited the place today with couple my colleagues with great taste. i Walked the full length of the Restaurant Great Ambience, Simple but Elegant. We were greeted By a young Petit lady ( Sarita) with a heavy Columbian accent with the most polite Voice. That proved this place was as authentic as it comes. Big Miguel at the Bar, Anna Maria going over certain Details with new Staff, Santiago very attentive made us feel at home. Washrooms were Very clean. As they are only a week old they did not have any Imbibing Great Columbian Liquids in stock. Food was Great , felt like we were sitting with the families home in Columbia feasting on Family food. Excellent AUTHENTIC Columbian Food. great service. Good people . Miguel took my Instructive Critisism with Pride. My friend Rob Who is a Great Chef suggested that the AJI sauce was so good it should be sold shelf in bottles. Jared my body Could't get enough of the chicken Soup, Empanadas were best ever i have tried in a very light Batter was full of Flavours. Please people you would do yourself a favour trying the First Columbian Authentic Cuisine . This is a GEM on Granville Street in the heart of...
