Please save your time and money and don’t go to this place. Service was awful and slow. Food was okay not great. Every table was complaining about how slow the service was. It took them about 15 minutes to bring us water and they never came by to refill unless we asked. They messed up our order and brought it to another table. We tried to wave them down (telling them it was our food) but bz no one was paying attention they brought it back to the kitchen. We finally got their attention to tell them about our food that was erroneously brought back to the kitchen, and they proceeded to bring us the same food which now cold. Cold tempura and cold gyoza. To top it off, we ordered the shabu shabu for 3 people (mind you it’s not cheap). They only brought meat for two people. I told her there’s no way this is a three person portion, and she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and that they weigh the meat portions to be exact. I then saw a two person table next to me order the same shabu shabu and their meat portion looked exactly like ours (which was supposed to be for 3 people). I waved down our server to ask her again if she could kindly check with the kitchen if they prepared a 2 person or 3 person portion and guess what? It was a 2 person portion. They had messed up our order all night!Had I not said anything they would have charged us for 3!! By this time we were so annoyed and asked for the check. We proceed to walk to the restaurant across the way bz my kids were still hungry. Tiny portions, bad service, and ridiculous prices. ...
Read moreFound in the Westin Whistler resort. Small restaurant but very cute. They even have private rooms. I've only done sushi here so this review is based on that. (They do have Hot Pot available and other menu items.)
I was able to make a reservation. It does get busy and considering its on the smaller size seating wise, reservations would be something to consider.
The food I ordered was prepared with care, I could totally taste its quality and flavour. I'm very impressed in the size of the special roll, Kamikaze Roll. The prawn tempura was not as crispy as I would've liked. The gyoza and rest of the rolls were tasty and filling.
I would reorder everything (pictured) again. Total cost with tax was approx $105 CAD.
The reason I gave the star off would be it's location (although convenient for me as I stayed at the Westin) is not necessarily convenient for others to make their way here from elsewhere in Whistler Village. That being said, the food is worth the trip...
Read moreIf there’s an option for no star I would do that for this restaurant. DONT GO!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!! The waiters seem nice but they make you wait forever. They smile at you and say yes to your requests then never look at you or give you what you asked.
Our sukiyaki came two hours after we ordered, which is ridiculous because it’s raw when served. Why did you need that much time?
I don’t understand. The food is definitely not worth the wait.
You guys indeed have some management issues. You are not a French Michelin 3-star restaurant. People don’t wait for Japanese food for this long. You don’t even have the Wagyu. Yet you think you are the finest Japanese restaurant in town.
Lastly about the price, why is tip included? Shame on you! You don’t ask for tips when you have no service. I gave 22%tips like you asked anyway, because I see you as a bunch of beggars.
Service is laughable. Food is pathetic. Hope you close down during pandemic. Trust me...
