Indulge Café and Bakery — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I’ve been meaning to try this place for the last several months as it’s close to work and looks like a very cozy and inviting place. I finally got the chance today and was left disappointed by the service and food as this place has so much potential. When you first walk in you’re very confused as the food menu is not very easy to find when you walk in and there’s two counters but hard to tell which one to order at. While both counters are staffed, none of the staff actually greet you or seem excited that you’re there. I ordered the pesto chicken panini with soup and London fog which took a while to come out. Other customers lining up were complaining nobody is taking their order as well. The soup was cold but tastes good, the sandwich was well portioned and the bread was very good but still came out cold. Not sure how they achieved a crust on the bread while having it served cold with half melted cheese? The chicken was also stringy and tough and did not taste fresh. The London fog was decent. Search completed!! I have been looking for a bakery who was willing to accommodate making whole wheat par baked pizza crusts and I found it with Indulge! I called multiple bakeries in the city and nobody would do this. One bakery told me that whole wheat pizza crusts are a thing of a past? I could not believe this statement thinking to myself that eating healthy because of a heath condition could be a thing of the past. Nevertheless, I stumbled on this bakery on a work project that we did for them. I asked Haley the Owner if her bakery could accommodate making par-baked shells and she said yes. I placed a skip order for a snack cake and lunch to be delivered to a colleague for his birthday as we work in a remote environment. I asked if they could write a birthday message on the cake, when I called I was told it may be too long but then the team made the cake slightly bigger so the whole message could fit! The indulge cafe and bakery team went above and beyond to make the day special for my team member! It was such a pleasant surprise! I got feedback that the sandwich and soup was delicious also!
