I was looking forward to eating at this place because I'd heard good things. I got there at about a 12:45pm on Friday. They're outside eating area was almost completely empty, at about 10%. I picked a table outside, and then I walked inside to use the restroom. On the way in one of the servers was casually leaning against the wall with her finger in her nose. I am not kidding.
Strike one.
As I walked back from the bathroom I noticed that the place inside was relatively empty as well. The inside had about 30 tables. About three of them were occupied. There were five tables next to the window which were empty. I decided I would have lunch inside, and I wanted to sit at one of the tables near the window. I motioned to one of the servers to help me, mentioned that I wanted to sit inside at one of the tables near the window. She said no that's not possible because those tables are reserved, as she attempted to walk me toward the back of the restaurant. I looked around the restaurant, nearly empty. It was a sunny day. I wanted to sit at one the tables near the window to look outside. I mentioned this to her, and again asked her if I could sit at one of the five empty tables near the window. Another employee approached and curtly insisted that they were reserved. That was strike two. I was unimpressed by the lack of attentiveness of the staff, and I wasn't going to stick around for strike three. I said thank you,...
Read moreIf you are a vegan or want to try some spectacular food without meat then you have to visit El Huerto restaurant in Providencia Area (quite close to Costanera centre). It is surrounded by tourist attracting themed restaurants, but in my opinion it beats all competition hands down fairly by its quality of food & attentive quick service. It's always crowded during lunch or evening dinner time & I think they don't accept table reservations, but trust me the wait is worth it (and while you are waiting enjoy some live music from random street artists making it even more pleasant). The staff is very helpful & attentive. They guide you to some of the best dishes they prepare as per your liking. The food is all vegan menu. Every dish is made up of quality ingredients carefully picked only for you. They provide complimentary soft bread with sauce dip. The last time I had been there I had tried nachos with guacamole and Indian curry & rice dish. The colours & flavours in the dish reminded me of the finest gourmet. Pricing wise it is slightly on the higher side (min $25-30) compared to other neighborhood restaurant because of the superior taste, quality & amazing service. Totally recommended when you are in...
Read moreThis is a classy vegetarian restaurant that has a nice selection of vegetarian starters and main dishes influenced by different cuisines from around the world - for example Thai, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Indian and Peruvian cuisines are all represented. I had the hummus to start, the pumpkin soup and burrito as my main course and the crepes with ice cream for dessert. In addition, the restaurant provided a complimentary starter to all diners consisting of multi grain buns and a red pepper dip. All the items were delicious. The service staff were all courteous, professional and English speaking - the menu is also available in English. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restroom was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this restaurant to those that enjoy delicious vegetarian meals inspired from different parts of the world served by friendly staff in a relaxed and comfortable...
