Bar Amazonia — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Ok, I don't know what aspect I'm rating here. I'll be honest... It is HARD to convince those that don't live in WanChai to spend time at Amazonia. While we're being honest... It's hard to keep them there once they are. Why? Tunnel vision. You see, the outside is chock full of hookers and chain smokers. I even saw an undercover cup bust a drug dealer right outside only to have a face palm moment when he couldn't find the stash. But you need to look beyond all of this. Do you like quality rock cover bands? Do you like immersing yourself in a cold Asahi, Japan's #1 beer, while jamming out to Rage Against the Machine at 2am on Saturday? Who doesn't? Ladies and gentleman, all I ask is that you give my client a fair chance and view them in the context of delivering on precisely what they are aiming to be... And if you can, just for a second, look past the working girls calling you handsome in the attempt to coerce a free drink or two while they give you unsolicited shoulder rubs and compliment your non-existant abs... Simply politely decline and remind them you are just there for the live music, and "lose yourself" in it... Then I think you'll see why I gave this...

It's a bit pricey by American standards. Beers are $11 US depending on the exchange rate. But the live music is fantastic. They have two Filipino cover bands. The Bands alternate between each set so you get to see them both every other hour. In between sets they have a DJ playing music.

People from all over the world come here so the crowd is very eclectic. The biggest thing about this bar is the number of Filipino and Thai girls who are looking to hook-up. So many to chat with and most are 7's, 8's, or 9's. It is of course pay to play and the prices the girls are asking for is high compared to bars in other countries. The average is between $200 and $400 USD. But sometimes you will get lucky with a DH on her night off and just wants to have a great time and will go with you for less than $200.

The place doesn't get rocking until around midnight and a second wave of partygoers seems to happen after 2am. So if you don't mind the prices, the music is great and the atmosphere is incredible most nights. Friday's and Saturday's the...

I think this is one of the most fun real dive bars on the planet. Come here to drink and get trashed and then dance because the tequila tells you that you’re John Travolta, and enjoy the game of watching the pickups happening all around you and trying to guess who’s giving which std to who. With a little luck you’ll go home scarless alone or with the person you came here with, and if by chance you do find a lifelong “friend “ here, buy a lottery ticket and celebrate. The Philippino cover bands are serious a f so be nice and leave them a tip, and the Dj plays old school Snoop and Jay Z so shut up and make out on the dance floor before the band comes back.
