Caritas Restaurant — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

A newly renovated full serviced western restaurant. The entrance was not on the roadside and needed to be accessed inside the building. It was comprised of two sections - the outer area was self-service like a fast food restaurant, and the inner part was a full service western restaurant. Quality of food and service was satisfactory. Distance between tables was wide enough. Choice was not too many, and business hours were not long. No dinner was served. Coffee was freshly brewed. Since the restaurant was not full, lunch was finished in a leisurely atmosphere. Breakfast was also available from 8 am on Sundays and holidays, and drinks were self served. Garden view was a merit. During weekdays, the fast food area was opened, and the price of the breakfast and lunch sets was average with discounts for seniors at lunchtime. Festive meal sets were offered. It is a canteen plus a serviced restaurant. I only visited the canteen today and so my comments are only applicable to the canteen.

Extremely spacious and clean canteen. Portion is generous as it caters to lot of construction workers in the area.

Coffee is not bad at all for a canteen and is freshly grounded/brewed as well.

I ordered a set lunch. It had 3 choices of sides with of course rice. Coffee comes with this. All these were HKD42. Very good value.

Good thing is you do not need to leave after lunch, lest a queue of people are waiting for your seat! 😂

I just love them 😄... They are real local people. Pretty civilized, much better than me. I've tried their breakfast, lunch, buffet, Chinese dishes with rice on the side, or covering the whole plate. They somehow divide the dining area into two sections. One more like cafeteria, and the other serving a more expensive menu. If you drive there, remember not to take a left when you drive into Caine Road. It is meant to be a bus lane in the day, meaning from 07.00am to 19.00pm...
