It was one of the Cantonese restaurants in this mall, which was operated under a F & B group. The interior decoration was somewhat giving an antique feeling. The tea cart was placed beside the table in the hall area. Water was added and boiled upon pressing the button. Zisha teapot and glass pot were used for serving. However, the tubular white chopsticks were not too good because they easily rolled out of the stand or small plate. Some dim sums were special. For example, the cha siu inside the steamed rice roll was rather thick, unlike smaller diced ones commonly used, but the dish was warmed with the heater underneath. The marinated wheat gluten was quite sticky. The cha siu bun was soft and easy to eat. The fried thin Chinese pancake was quite crispy. Dim sum was ordered per piece. The quantity of food served at night was not so much. The open kitchen was located along the main walkway. Service was satisfactory, but the waitress forgot to give the packaged tea to us. They unpacked it afterward and rinsed before serving. Extra charge was required for chrysanthemum tea. Payment was made at the cashier near...
Read moreWent here to yum cha with my family and relatives during New Year. . We ordered a wide variety of diu sum dishes. Among all, the Pork Dumplings in Spicy Sauce stood out as my favourite. The spicy sauce was mouthwatering and paired with the pork dumplings nicely. The dumpling skin had just the right texture.
The Steamed Red Sugar Sponge Cake left a lasting impression. It was spongy and soft, and the sweetness was on point.
Also, I enjoyed the Steamed Beef Tripe in Black Pepper Sauce. The beef tripe was tender and well-seasoned, and had a delightful aroma from the black pepper sauce.
The Stir-fried Noodles with Soy Sauce tasted savoury and had a chewy flavour.
Other dim sum were not particularly memorable in comparison. . The resto operated on a self-service basis even though it had a service charge. We used a QR code to place order, and we had to make the tea and boil the water by ourselves. The food was...
Read moreUpdate 2025 (2years later). Service improved but still a lot of room for improvement. Waitress wasn’t very helpful in ordering initially, but did help. We had plates full of bones that sat for 30 minutes before they were replaced. (2023) Service is terrible. Receptionist is unresponsive, blunt and rude (I’m guessing business is so good they don’t care). Dining area shows definite sign of staff shortage, tables pile up with finished dim sum containers.. staff very impatient when asked questions and show ZERO interest in helping seniors take orders. Prices reasonably good—-dim sum food quality low to mediocre. The tea which is supposed to be a feature is low quality, no taste at all. (We did not try any main dishes). The only good point I think is the location is very convenient. I don’t understand why people line...
