Came here to try their famous hot dogs which was very cheap at $13 with two sausages.
I wanted compare the hot dog here with the hot dog at Wing Lok, however I was expecting the one at Denmark to taste better but it didn't.
Both these hotdogs are Hong Kong style hotdogs with salad cream.
Overall breakdown of the hotdog:
Bun:
The top of the bun was crispy, and the bun tasted sweet.
Sauce:
This was the most disappointing aspect, there was virtually no sauce, it was so dry and there was no cheese.
Sausage:
This tastes like the typical hot dogs sold in the supermarket, chinese style, with a very gritty texture. Wing Lok HD vs Denmark HD Bun: the bun was too crispy for my liking, so WL is the winner. Sauce: the sauce at WL was a winner, there was no sauce here. Sausage: WL was definitely the winner, because the one here was salty , gritty and chalky like it had grounded shell in it. Although, Chinese hot dogs are not really my cup of tea, WL is definitely a winner...
Read moreFinally tried the famous pork chop sandwiches from Danish Bakery! Been eyeing it every time I'm in the area but never had the chance. I went just before 7pm, wasn't too busy, and they were a few customers before me. I saw they also had the fish fillet sandwich and made a mental note to try that next time. I could also see that they were adjusting the prices. I remember walking past the shop when the sandwiches were around HKD14, but now they are about HKD18. Eyy they have to make a living!
I saw them fry the pork chop in the deep fryer, with all the oil, hearing the "pop pop" and crackle was like music to my ears. On each side of the bun, he spread some ketchup and mayo, mmmm classic HK style. Mind you, while it is more expensive than a simple burger at McDonald's, I like supporting the local mom...
Read moreI’ve been eating here since I was 6 years old. This place holds many significant memories for many people and I’m so happy to see it thriving. The food also has not declined a single bit. Their hot dogs are what I grew up on but their fried fish sandwich is not to be slept on.
Crispy freshly fried grouper on a soft HK style sweet bun. Perfect ratio of fish to bread as well as the ketchup and mayonnaise slathered above and below the fish (careful not to mix the two). Bread is highly warmed and the contrast between the hot fish and the cold sauces makes this a heavenly bite. Perfect on-the-go snack. $23, I remember when prices were all single digits 😂 but still very reasonable for...
