Extremely terrible service - it was my friend’s bday ytd and we moved from one table to another (outdoors) after asking their staff member (who arranged to clean up the new table and moved us there) - they totally forgot abt our relocation and did not bring to us drinks we ordered when we were first seated. We weren’t very happy with it but this was not the worst. Three of their staff members (man with mustache who kept pulling down his mask when he talked to my friend 🙄, an Asian and a woman in sleeveless black dress) came back one after another not to apologize but to hint and then to insist that it was our fault for moving tables without asking them before we moved. For god’s sake check your CCTV and you’d know we did not. And to be honest even if we did, who would confront customers with such an arrogant attitude?! My friend who was supposed to have her bday drinks got very upset. And they even got one of our orders wrong and had to redo it. What’s more (yes this is not the end... can you believe it), I asked if it’s okay to put my friend’s bday cake and sauces in the fringe before we even ordered - they found my cake but couldn’t figure out where the sauces were (there was a handmade wooden spoon that my sis treasured and lent me so it meant a lot to me). I was trying to explain how the black paper bag holding the sauces looked like and the woman in sleeveless black dress just snapped and said there was no point for me to keep talking and I should let her speak 🙄 are you serious? I was angry but I tried not to yell at her so I said ok you speak then. She asked me who I communicated with and I told her that. Well she did finally locate the bag but she said I should tell her next time if I need to put anything in the fridge or so because it’s not their usual practice (oh well all your staff members should know if it’s your policy and if she doesn’t it’s your management’s fault) - I didn’t force her I happily asked if she’d do it right at the beginning you know... and she said she was telling me these because next time we’d have a better experience? Why on earth would you think we would come back again lol after all the yelling and blaming on your customers... she said “happy birthday” to my friend who was super sad by the end of the session (worsened by smoke fuming all over the place)... you reckon how ironic that was? Well it’s the first time I’m typing a review on google, because Dragon fly was that bad. Please don’t go, for the sake of protecting your...
Read moreDrinks were nice but the south Asian male staff member was very rude. I agree with the previous Google reviews on their ignorant and rude staff behaviour. We arrived 15 minutes late but we have notified prior to arriving. Because we arrived a bit later than expected, we were give a table near the entrance and not in the main bar area. I spotted two free tables in the main area so I asked the south Asian male staff if I can sit there. He said no, it’s reserved. I said I reserved a table too, and asked how they allocate their tables. He said I arrived late so I cant sit there. Which means because I arrived late despite notifying them prior to arriving, I was ‘punished’ to sit outside of the main bar area in a dingy busy corridor despite having two free tables in the main area. After the conversation I was unsatisfied but I simply went back to my table outside of the main area and settled to have a good time with my friends. He then proceeded to come over and continued to shout at me about their ‘policy’ and mansplaining his way of working. I said that I’m not trying to argue, but I didn’t think it makes sense that they can’t give us a better table simply because we were running a bit behind cutting a birthday cake. He shouted at me and kept going on, being really hostile. I looked away as I’ve already made clear that I wasn’t trying to argue. He then walked away eventually. However at this point me and my friends were in a really bad mood and his attitude has really ruined our night. We then didn’t get served for a long time and it seems to be another ‘punishment’ of arriving late.
He was not considerate or polite to his customers, but instead shouted and argued with a birthday guest despite me making it clear that I don’t want to engage in this conversation. He needs to change his behaviour and go through some serious training as he seems to be on a power trip.
Never coming back and I’m going to issue a formal complaint against this...
Read moreI couldn’t believe how rudely my wife and I were spoken to by the manager at Dragon Fly. What started as a simple inquiry turned into a frustrating encounter that left a sour taste. We were looking over the menu, and I spotted a draft beer listed at $100. Before ordering, I politely asked if it was a full pint, since it wasn’t specified anywhere. The server confirmed yes, so we went ahead. Imagine our surprise when it arrived – it was only about 300ml In many places, that’s more like a small glass, especially for that price. When I raised the issue calmly, the manager got involved and dismissively told me, “This is how every bar in Hong Kong serves their beer.” No apology, no explanation, just a brusque attitude that made us feel like we were the ones in the wrong for expecting clarity. As someone who works in customer service myself, I know how important it is to handle questions with respect and helpfulness – I’d never treat a client this way, no matter how busy the night is. The whole interaction felt condescending and unprofessional. For a spot like Dragon Fly, which I assume aims for a certain vibe in Hong Kong’s bar scene, this was a letdown. The beer itself was fine, but the service overshadowed everything. We’ll definitely never return, and I’d advise others to double-check portions upfront or skip it altogether if you’re sensitive to surprises on the bill. 1/5 stars – save your money for...
